  1. I have been trying to find out how to set the throttle cut on an ic engine using the Taranis tx. Does anyone know how? There's plenty of info on electric.
  2. The footprint size with extension to its max is 12 3/4 x 20 1/2, so you will need to add the over hang to these measurements. Hope this helps.
  3. I brought a Parkside drill from Lidil. They are cheaper than brand makes and only have one battery, but I have had mine for 3yrs and it's still going strong. I have used it for all sorts of DIY as well as modelling.
  4. I was surprised about the Cog, even though it's not quiet finished, the rx battery will need to be in the hatch. I did build the frame a bit heavier. Should be an interesting maiden!
  5. 25 SC two stroke. Used this one as it was lying around and looked about the right size. Had to modify the fire wall to get the exhaust to fit.
  6. Thought I would have a go at converting the Wiggo to an IC version! Still not quite finished it yet!
  7. Have you tried themodelworld? There has also been a couple on ebay recently!
  8. Why is it that most of the modelshops I have checked on line, don't seem to have hardley any ARTF kits for IC? They are either out of stock or on back order!
  9. Saw this plane at the Hobby king show last year, very nice. Put it on my must have list
  10. Yes it was habit and a case of I've always done it that way, then it became a challenge to set it up with a Y lead. The only advantage, is it's. One less lead to un plug! I do agree that if you have spare channels then why not use them.
  11. Thanks for all the advice. I stripped everything out, measured it all twice and refitted the servo's, horns and linkage. Have measured both the flaps and they both measure the same, using a Y lead. There must have been something slightly out, the first time I set the flaps up! Cheers
  12. Hi. I am having trouble setting the flaps on my Hanger 9 P-47. I am using Futaba 3003 servos, the servo horns are the same length and the link rod is the same length. I am using a Y lead, so when I set up one of the flaps, I thought that the other would move the same distance, but wrong. It is 6mm out. I've tried adjusting the length of the rod, but made no difference! They both start in the same position. I have run out of ideas!
  13. I have an Irvine 53 in mine and still had to add a bit of lead.
  14. I'll see if I have still got the instructions. Won't be able to look until tomorrow as working nights!
  15. Hi. Just measured mine from the leading edge. It measured 75mm
  16. Yes please, count me in. Working Christmas and boxing day so will need a bit of Christmas cheer!
  17. Hi, what about a seagull PC9? Under £100 and a great plane to fly. This was my first low winger. Colour scheme stands out well.
  18. Hi. I have just treated myself to a 15cc Evolution petrol engine, very nice it is. It says in the manual that the CDI unit can run on a 2s lipo. Is there a minimum amp for the battery? Or would it depend on what you can fit into the air frame?
  19. Yes I have built one of these. I would go over the whole airframe with cayno as it is held together with camel spit. The under carriage is rather thin and bends very easily if landing is a bit heavy. The decals need a peice of tape on the ends to stop them lifting off during flght. Be careful when inserting the wire for the elivators as it is easy to push it through the serface and there dont seem to be enough balsa either side, so I glued 2 peices of ply either side of the wire for re-enforcement. To mount the cowl, I glued on some blocks onto the fire wall, as the screws were a bit close to the edge of the cowel. Check to see if the spinner is in the kit, mine was'nt, but did get one eventually. After going over the above, the plane is a joy to fly. I have an Irvine 53 in mine and balanced it up in the centre of the 2 C of G positions. I does tend to come in a bit fast and glides really well. I have had about 12 10 minute flights and it still puts a big grin on my face. Hope you enjoy it as much as I do!!
  20. Have tried starting the engine with the model inverted, and the fuel came out of the exhaust like water out of a hose. Needless to say it didn't start. I then put the engine in a test stand and to get it near max reves, the high end needle was taken out 5 turns. At least it started up again!
  21. The frustrating thing is, my mate who sold me the plane had an OS 91 fs in it and had no problems. Thanks for your help.
  22. Haven't tried turning the model upside down yet. Have had a look on another site and the recommend having the choke venturi on. Will give these both a try and see what happens. Will give an update wih the results.Valve clearance are okay. Edited By Tim Reeves on 10/05/2013 14:11:15
