  1. I have not had much time on this build but this is where I am with it. I have put a snake in for the rudder and the servo near the battery hatch. I didn't like the idea for fixing it to the tail as appears on the plan.
  2. Decals. Anybody any thoughts on making or someone who may supply them?
  3. Sorry Martin for the delay but here is a photo of the other side of the leg.
  4. Hi Tim The North Lakes Soaring Club is active at Bewaldeth and I am a member. Not sure I can put the Secretary's details on here but if you PM me I will put you in touch.
  5. First wing glued up. Photo showing the Wing Jig Tabs a very clever idea by TN. It makes it so easy to get the correct wing shape. These are later cut off.
  6. Chris The fans are the ones recommended by TN and are from Banggood after discount.
  7. Update. I have decided to go ahead with the Concorde build, however at a reduced cost. My initial idea was to buy the plan and Vac set only. I would then buy a laser cutter from the savings made which would also be used for future projects. However given I have no experience with with these and the time it would take me to get up to speed I decided to go for the cnc as well at £124. On arrival the Vac set had been crushed but Slec are sending me a replacement. The wood pack from TN was £55 but I do have a good stock of Balsa etc and thought I may have enough, unfortunately not but the cost of what I need to buy is £27. I seem to have all the other parts I need servos and wiring. I have the four FMS fans at £18 each and have bought 4 x 40amp ESC at £13 each. I have 2 suitable batteries. That only leaves the retracts which I couldn't justify at £198. I have several sets of retracts which are from planes which have gone to the plastic bag. I have converted a set for the Concorde at no cost. See Picture. My total spend should be less than £300. Now for the build.
  8. Now that Tony N has released his Concorde build kit I am surprised there is nothing on the forum about it. Is anyone going to build one? I have just priced it up. Kit and retracts £378 Electrics etc from 4Max £392.85 Total £770.85 There will then be misc. items covering, decals, glue etc. I am now having second thoughts on it.
  9. My granddaughter is taking her driving test in two weeks. Part of the test requires her to follow a route on a Satnav. OK the route is set by the examiner but they are hardly going to ban them I would suggest.
  10. Some years ago before mobile phones I ran a business and one day a couple came into the business complaining that one of our drivers (company details on the van) had bad mouthed them. I asked them the circumstances and said they were parking and our van had gone past and the driver had bad mouthed them. I asked them what he had said and they said they didn't know has their windows were closed. I said I would speak to the driver when he returned which I did. He told me the vehicle mentioned had suddenly pulled into a parking space but he thought nothing of it. I asked him why he had said something about it and he said he hadn't he had been singing along to the music on the radio. Now a days could he have been on a hands free mobile phone or singing along to the radio?   Edited By Alan Jarvis on 22/08/2019 12:30:33
  11. I am a PPL and am fully aware of various experiments within the aircraft industry and that is what they currently are, experiments. Yes the Wright Bros plane was an experiment and look where that has taken us.
  12. Keith it is already happening Airbus electric aircraft www.airbus.com/newsroom/news/en/2018/07/the-future-is-electric.html Hybrid cruise ship www.overnmenteuropa.eu/hybrid-cruise-ship-roald-amundsen/93860/
  13. There is an Italian joke. In Milan it is compulsory to obey traffic lights. In Rome they are optional. In Naples they are fairy lights.
  14. I use the covering from Hobbyking and find it very good. Rub it down with fine sandpaper and paint and have had no problems. I used silver on a Vulcan and painted it in camouflage colours.
