  1.   In our area the police will no longer take lost/found property or have any interest in it. It is for the finder to try and return it to the owner. Edited By Alan Jarvis on 23/07/2017 15:48:14
  2. The problem I see is that HH have not comunicated this decision to me. If I didn't read this forum then I would be unaware of the situation. How many Spektrum owners read this forum. I have asked two and neither are aware of this. So tomorrow or in several months they could send their equipment to the last known address in the UK. I am registered with Spektrum and they have my email adress.
  3.   Could these Premier Dealers be authorised repair centres. Apple have independent stores all Apple branded but not owned by Apple who are authories repair centres. Here is one. **LINK**     Edited By Alan Jarvis on 19/03/2017 12:08:51
  4. Anybody suggest an Acrobatic type plane for taking the 'B' certificate. I have the 'A' certificate and have been flying all types of planes for 6 or 7 years. The nearest thing I have at the moment is an Artizan but it is getting a bit beat up now, although I would need to replace the stabilised radio or disable it. But time for a new model.
  5. From the HMRC site. The sender must write ‘goods to be declared by importer’ on the customs declaration form. Before you can collect your goods, you’ll be sent: a full customs declaration form to fill in a letter explaining how to pay any tax or duty you owe. In practice you should get notified that goods owe duty/tax. Go online complete the form and pay the tax.
  6. I bought an item from the States which was approx. £140 and had tracking. When I saw it in customs I went to HMRC website and paid the duty/vat by credit card to HMRC and saved the £12 Parcelforce were going to charge for collecting the money. There are facilities for doing this on their site. If it is a small item best for it to be sent by the American post office and arrives here to Royal Mail and invariable customs don't have the resources to check every small packet but you may be unlucky.
  7. Here are some pics of my South Herts Models Vulcan. 6ft wingspan, weighs 10lbs without battery and finished as per the original anti flash white.
  8. Thanks Phil Yours looks good and itseems to have some quality parts apart from the plans/instructions which leave a lot to be desired. Alan
  9. I have just acquired a large brown box with a P J Models PSS Hawk kit in it. The box was still sealed and has a complete set of very nice parts in it. I have tried searching for this model without luck anyone point me in the right direction of builds, reviews etc. Alan
  10. Airbus have developed a EDF plane which flew across the channel. The EDF's do not have thrust tubes. The casing tapers to the rear. **LINK**
  11. Our flying site is just outside a small town (pop 8000). About 2 years ago I was flying a Mentor with a video camera on it and believe I was much less that 400ft when two Tornados flew past about 1/4 miles away and they were much lower than me. I still have the video but unfortunately it was facing away from the Tornados. This year whilst flying at the same site two Hercules transport planes appeared from nowhere. One flew directly over our field at no more than 250ft the other one was about 400 yards away same height. We are nowhere near any military base. Do we need a NOTAM for 400ft?
  12. As others have said it is very difficult to understand what you are trying to achieve. The throttle is the throttle by default. That's why you don't have the option to set it because it is already set.Forget the port assignment menu. Unless you are doing slope soaring for example then you don't need to setup the throttle channel. Which receiver are you using because normally you plug the throttle control (ESC or Servo) into the first port marked either THRO or 1. You are over complicating things. Do you have a model which comes with a radio built in. You do know to bind your Transmitter to the receiver. Edited By Alan Jarvis on 04/12/2015 10:11:46
  13. The leaflet I received states. "Please note that the 'manage your account' functionality will be available from 1st November 2015" The leaflet was included within my last copy of RCM&E.
  14. I received details that from the 1st Nov 2015 I would be able to manage my RCM&E account online at www.rcme.secureorder.co.uk All I get is page not found. Anyone managed to log on.
  15. Hi Mark Having built several Vulcan’s I can say you are taking on a seriously difficult project. However you may wish to look at the following sites and there are many more. Graham Dorschell 68" not depron but if you buy the plan direct from him for the EDF version you could translate it into depron. Tony Nijhuis is working on another Vulcan but it is Balsa. **LINK** **LINK** **LINK** **LINK** **LINK** I would also suggest Spektrum radio gear.
  16. Standing on Dunmail Rise at the Southern end of Thirlmere (Lake District) when she passed over us at no more than 150ft and the pilot even dipped his wings absolutely amazing apart from breathing in burnt fuel fumes.
  17. David Mellor and I are building the South Herts Model together. We also both have the Mark Kettle Vulcan. I have the Tony Nijhuis 48" Vulcan converted to PSS. I am a bit of a nut about the Vulcan. Here is a picture of my TN Vulcan with XJ 823.
  18. Keith In April 1997 it received maritime radar reconnaissance modifications (MMR) and a gloss paint finish and served with No 27 Squadron. The bulge on the nose is part of that. It is assumed the probe was removed at that time.
