    AOL

The "user" must do the Importing contacts. It must be painless or I could not have done it I can't remember the direct route to doing it, just that it is fairly obvious in one of the menu tabs in the new software. You would need to do this before removing AOL from your machine, if that is your chioce.

Lifting heavy objects the wrong way!   He didn't try to lift the Barmaid  I should have added that when I get away from this computer and the build room I might just get a read of it. AOL

I had been with AOL for some years. I got fed up with it getting slower. More drop outs, adverts plastered to everything. Even having to step, step, step through add on rubbish to reach anything on their front page. Now with the BT package as I already had the phone anytime contract, and total cost is ok. A plus point is getting Internet just about anywhere with thier FON and Hotspot service. So far it has proven faster and cleaner. I did keep my basic E-mail with AOL as it saves a lot of hassle changing hundreds of contacts. Importing contacts both E-mail and Favourites, to BT, was quite painless too.
  4. That is some find, I would not object to more clips, and also suggest your local museum may have some interest or know who would.
  5. I have mentioned before that the condensate drips in the fuel container are alcohol, which others have also stated. The alcohol evaporates much more readily than water and is a clear substance. Any colour you see in new fuel is in the additives, either the oil and its constituents, or deliberate colour added by the manufacturer. The amount of water in a litre of air is not likely to be very much, so water content in "our" fuel tends to be much exagerated and never proven. Much like the Flat Earhers claims used to be.
  6. A nice neat build Andy. I asked a flying aquaintance what engines he uses on his current two Super Sixties. He said OS .40 LA's. His first, now defunct, had another .40 2st. He flies off water with them too so the bit extra power helps and he can always throttle back.
  7. Keeps his wits about him he does, a fair old bit of sightseeing mentioned in the latest missive as well as a bunch of interesting names of places. I hope you got in a decent supply of Balsa and stuff before the snow slowed you down Martyn. Snow is not something we have seen a lot of, here beside Ben Nevis. Rain now, a near record for the last year, with 301 days of measurable precipitation. A nice cottage you have Martyn, and I think you can be well pleased with what you and the good lady have done to getting it to your liking. Nice to know you are getting over your affliction and no longer seem miss your BOG.
  8. Been and gone, dunit, came back. An oil Magnate from Belarus seems to have found shares I own, I AM RICH.
  9. Only once had a problem with a purchase and Paypal sorted it out with a fairly rapid return of my money. Found it easy to set up drawing on my credit card. Good advice to never open supposed PayPal E-mails, just as it is to not open any of the "whatever type" Banks rubbish.
  10. Hi you old person, 1958 ? just a youngster. I am pleased the Hole of Horcum was mentioned, I did not know that it was close to Myron. I might even get to see it now.
  11. Somebody did it again??? posts running under the adverts on the right.

  13. Well put together, the limitations were mainly to do with the ability of the Video Camera to handle the varied light plus keeping focus. Strangely, the Musak for once, did not annoy with being overly intrusive.
  14. A very busy thread. I cannot give a true answer rhough, as some of my RX's don't have the function. On the ones that do I have the failsafe set on the 35Mhz types to hard over. The 2.4 Ghz Rx's I have not set any to a specific setting as yet, other than throttle cut.
  15. I shall not be getting any local flying done, even IF the weather allows as I am no longer a member of Fort William Model Flying Club Not too onerous though as I mostly fly elsewhere after March. I will have a good bit more free time availlable during the better Months as I am free the of Ground Maintenance which I did on a volunteer basis.
  16. The "adds" on the right are overlaying the post text on this thread
  17. Weather here in the ,,,, NORTHWEST, 4 or 5c almost calm. No snow and surprisingly, no rain. We have not seen more than a short lived bit of snow during this winter and the snowdrops are pretty.   Got flying today using my Panic. Really enjoyed it although it is likely to be my last flying for a while, nowt to do with weather though, just unwelcome hot air   Fort William Nice.
  18. Of dozens of RX 4 and 5 cell packs I have had only one rapid failure.   A new Trainer I built to help new flyers, with everything new including a four cell Battery. All seemed well till about forty feet up and fifty yards out, instant loss of control, nowt worked. Crash. The cause proved to be the lead from the pack only held in place by the heatshrink wrap and vibration caused the contact to fail. No Solder at all. Quite rare I think.
  19. I take this to mean a connect to live? Car type blade fuse and socket. I know there are small and "standard" sizes. Some form of camoflage can be designed?
  20. Looks like a towrist in August in a calm West Highland evening,,, the midge,s the midges, I'm no gonna kid ye's.   No bad a at all.
  21. Hi Alwyn, You have had some interesting times. In the model scene are interesting times too, as long as you make it so. We might get to meet somewhere if you get around the Scottish flyins, splashins, or even the SAA Airshow. If you see my face above a rotund body,,, introduce yourself.
  22. Mind something chaps, input power used does not mean usable thrust. The early jets and the modern ones use air/fuel mix to get thrust. A Fanjet/Turbojet does not directly relate to either.   I doubt very much that an centrifugal fan would a practical, efficient drive unit for a model aircraft.
  23. Well I certainly was out in the tee shirt and underpants plus thick trouser and padded shirt, Double socks in the boots too.   Wasn't even cold, no frost, ground not frozen, no snow and NO RAIN. The rest of Scotland has the snow but not bonnie Fort William. Got my first flying session of the year without the risk of having mid-air incidents, oh lonesome me. More days like this must be on the way, but warmer.

So a lot of them I think   Your "poke" got me though.   Really meant no favourite in the list as I have only had some experience of two of them.
