  1. Owww. Why did I read this before my appointment. My sympathies flyeruk.
  2. A good start maybe but having just read the whole of F1D world championship I guess that it is an indoor duration event, but until I can be bothered to look it up I'm in the dark. Steering by helium balloon is a black art indeed! It maybe just me as a relative newbie but I might have more interest in a world championship report if there was a bit of an introduction to the relevant class. Just my view Sorry if it comes across a bit snappy, I have toothache and an 11hr shift in front of me.
  3. I wonder if the software has been updated, but not the manual. Have you tried downloading the most upto date version from the website?
  4. He doesn't want a glider, so a wildthing won't be suitable. Not sure if this is the best section either. Zagi is the only one I can think of, but my knowledge is very limited. (I'm still try to keep mine in the air, never mind trying to hit a moving target)
  5. I'd like to add another option if you go the electric club route which is the maxthrust Riot. May not be everyone's first choice but I have found it to be good value, stable on low rates and it got me through my club solo in about four months. If it survives my flying long enough then just a change of battery and propeller should allow much more power/fun.
  6. Pump from a caravan/camping shop. Spare sprayer nozzles are usually available from local agricultural merchants or from here if 3/8 pipeline isn't too big . **LINK**
  7. The big fish shows the Flysky branded one in stock **LINK**
  8. Have you considered the mcpx? Seems to be quite popular as a first collective trainer when programmed to low rates.
  9. If going the module route you can just swop the modules over as required. There are more complicated routes available details on 9xforums. They usually involve some soldering which can be quite delicate. The other potential problem is having two antennas permanently attached and the risk of the redundant one absorbing some of the signal.
  10. I bought one of **these** Very similar I believe. Keep the rates low to start, esp the ailerons. On the plus side they are easy to repair. Oh and order a replacement prop as the stock one is not very good Edited By Welshboy on 09/11/2012 22:48:56 Edited By Welshboy on 09/11/2012 22:53:05
  11. I meant to say that I use my quad charger to charge my 12v gell lead acid deep cycle battery.
  12. I have the same quad charger. Instead of buying a specific gel cell charger, I bought a mains power supply unit to feed the quad charger and use that to charge my gell 12v. This way I can also charge my lipos at home.
  13. Looks like the Jellybean 4.11 version of Android does allow posting links. There's a new menu option to request desktop version. Ticking this displays the menu across the top of the reply box. It is quite flaky though http://www.modelflying.co.uk/forums/postings.asp?th=66146&p=3#1299126   Edited By Welshboy on 30/10/2012 06:53:38
  14. The training lead is a 3.5 mono audio jack. Male to male to buddy two 9xs together. Mono definitely works, not 100% sure about stereo. He stopped supplying backlights a while ago as he lost his supplier and couldn't compete on?price. Plus he was getting a lot of requests for the board alone.
