how to hide new planes from wife, advice please
Chris Bell replied to aaron williamson's topic in All Things Model Flying
Naaa just teach the wife to fly - then its not an issue. You can build on the dinner table - store models all over - get a bigger caravan all in the name of flying Of course now both my boys fly as well I can't fit as many models in the car for me - but.. My AT6, the wife's Cub, Samuels Cap232 and Mathews Speed Air still fit into the Delica with room to spare so.. Might be a bit of a squeeze with teh new jet mind Chris -
Personally ( as a club Chairman ) I'm a big fan for getting members to renew though the club, it makes life soo much easier. I then dont get phone calls on Jan 1st from country members saying they havent had there cards back yet - but can they still fly.... Nope sorry. I've known 2 of them for years and i'm sure they did send a cheque early Dec but the post office and the snow...... Chris

I think the Kyosho one is the same as the sportsman Aviation one. I have the SA version and no problems with the firewall or retracts. In fact the wife's nicked it to re-cover and possibly re-engine with one of Al's rgcf 15cc petrol's after we put one in her Cub. Chris

Have to say - no contenst for me - Petrol... yum yum. built a CAP for my eldest on electric - nice - very nice would be better if it made a noise though.. Chris
-
No - waiting for the Mag Are the details of the petrol conversion in the build ? I'd be keen to to have ago with a petrol up front, Might even think about converting my old 90 f/s ..... Chris

Its not a qualification - its an achievement ... Chris

This is us and No we dont have any full size flying here either Chris

Yes John you could say that, it feels like goverment at times Intersting stuff though - most of the model clubs I've flown at have the pilots box about half way down the strip. Never occured to me to have it any other way. Although I do agree with Garry though - a good safety officer is essential to any club, ours (Wayne) has a very calm head on his shoulders and tends to view things in the round a little more than me. Cheers, Chris

Hell you should get yourself to a WMFC fly-in. We're our normal alarm clock is Doug Rigby with one of his jets - ahh I do love the smell of Kero in the mornings boys ... Mind with did beat him last year with a mass take off of petrols around 8.00am Not for long though - the turbine was spooling up while we were landing... Great stuff mornings.. Chris

Thats why we do it Martin You're always half way down the runway - mind our strip is some 300 mtrs long so there are very few models that go to the end of the runway to start a takeoff run. Most taxi out to the middle of the strip turn left or right and take off. The LMA boys who use the runnway quite a bit seem happy enough with it... I have to say i'm never overly happy if someone walks into the middle of the runway to take off . Dont really have a problem with it as such - just dont like people hanging around on the runway then walking/tripping their way back to the pilots box while the model is in the air. If someone has a deadstick for example - they then have much more limited options. Chris

Yes - Samuel's seems a little nose heavy to me. But it was the only way to make it behave - we recently took of some lead and toned the elevators down some more. We might be flying tonight so i'll try and remember to measure the CofG on her. Chris

Hiya, My elsdest son has this CAP on electric. It needed lots of lead up front to make it behave itself - and the elevators turned down. Now its a great flyer has a 42/50 motor with a 14x8 prop and a 4s 5000 Lipo. They can be a nightmare if you dont keep them moving though - good luck with the rebuild. Chris

Ohh my Son would love this.. -
Know what you mean - to be fair i'd have bought a 10C by now but I really dont like the modular approach in a new TX Frankly it looks poor.
-
Has anyone tried this with a Futaba Module and an optic 6 ? I have 2 6EX's on 2.4 and 5 or 6 Rx's now - my old optic 6 is sat in the corner looking sad - If I could put a Futaba module in that would be great Chris

Me please...
