  1. Fancy having these offers just after payday....will never get to the end of the month
  2. Not all of it .. I got my four 7 channel receivers .. and RCLIFE haven't had all of the stock as that is up for offer ... out of my reach though
  3. When i took over Ratby the lads at Inwoods (if I remember correctly) told me that "to make a small fortune in the model business you need to start with a large one" ...how right they were .. that's why I am an IT consultant now China / HK has taken over .. hard to survive these days ... i still get OEM offers from China and when I look into them i can buy stuff cheaper from Banggood with free postage than i could import it and try and sell it at a profit over here.... and not many people want real kits any more so there is little point producing them .. all very sad but that is just how it is now ... no one has free time any more ... and there is myself flying PNF foamies rather than Jabberwocks these days .. you just have to adapt. .. now does anyone need any Netbackup consultancy doing
  4. Well it won't be happening again as the site seems to have gone .. one month of support, outstanding orders will be fulfilled and then that is the end of it. So if you have anything missing you need to act quickly....
  5. Wow .. it was there at 1pm and now it has gone completely! I have had a mail to say I will be refunded for my missing and faulty items .. will see if it comes through
  6. I had a bird bath break like that. . I drilled both sides and popped a length of piano wire in .. exterior filler in the hole and joint to hold it.
  7. Not heard anything since my email to them about my missing glue...other bits all seemed fine but.... 1st motor i used didn't work but that could have been me with screws too long and may have touched a winding... . Doh! ! 2nd motor was fine .. ready and fitted nideky in my Wing Wing 3rd motor went in the Wilga 2000 today ready to teach my lad ... but seems out of balance .. never had a motor like that before. .. almost as if the shaft is bent... will probably have to swap it out as i am unsure what to do with it I hope the others aren't like that Will mention it all in another mail to them and report back if hear anything. I did notice they had cleared the site up .. i had 2 things on stock notify but they don't exist any more. ... mainly just in stock items on the site now.
  8. Thanks Rich ..makes sense. I may keep the head design but move back to 14mm and try again See you soon Mark
  9. My final order has arrived and all fine .. so they just owe me some glue .. but yes it is poor that it wasn't automatically dealt with
  10. I received 2 packages on Saturday .. the first was all there although a prop had been substituted .. which was fine The second just had a tube of UHU missing .. was shown as shipped but a note on the packing slip said "not in stock" .. so I have popped them an e-mail to ask about it. Everything else was there and perfect and a really quick delivery in the end .. so very, very pleased .. should keep me going for bits and bobs and motors for a good while
  11. I modified mine to have a 2 part wing with steel joiners having tubes in the wings.. can't remember if I used piano wire or 6 inch nails now .. works fine. . You still need a car big enough for the rest of her though Mine is electric powered (brushed and nicad) but about to get a lipo conversion ... nice as you can turn the motor off and let her thermal... she will fly forever with a lip pack!! Boring video of her on my YT channel .. will add here later
  12. Rich ... hope OW was good .. a bit blowy up the field today and could really have done with your advice ... Since you flew my atom i have added the trim. . .changed the tail servo, added the cowl and secured the lead in the nose .. so the CofG should still be good. . I also zero'd the trims as you had some trims at their max so i may be a degree out with the head.... also a change of prop which may give a little more poke The only major change is to try my own head plate .. the wider one with curved corners and using a 12mm gap rather than 14mm ... still using 0.8mm shims on the blades ... and today my atom seemed to have unlimited lift ... wanted to take off very early on, didn't need the blades spinning at the start. After a couple of falling over to the left at slow speed take offattempts she took to the air .. straight up .. into a perfect loop at only 10ft off the ground .. recovered nicely out of the loop. ... i cut the motor and she auto-rotated onto the grass ... Only damage was knocking a fin off as she tipped over after this landing .... very impressive but clearly not right Is it just my new plate do you think or have I messed something else up? The amount of lift is amazing if it could be controlled
  13. 2 boxes have arrived ... will open them later so that i can check them off carefully and report back...
  14. Steve Thanks for the reply ... i am doing just that, just wanted to say how nice it looked so added my comment before i finished reading. .. my rcm&e is here now so maybe a depron version will follow one day
  15. Posted by Donald Fry on 15/05/2015 17:23:05: You were a hooligan with that motor stuck up the front of that poor little thing. Very true .. first time i got it run in and on song it just did a wing-over from launch ... scared the hell out of me .. the one with the spitfire was a dream. .. got on on the side waiting .. BNIB as they say
  16. Nitrex 15 .. ah the memories of my phantom mite with an os 15 up front .. my brothers with the dc spitfire was always a better runner though
  17. Great .. thanks .. I will try some and report back
  18. My order from 13th has shipped now too. Even if GS had a hand in it I don't mind .. my work shop is fully stocked for way less that I could get it anywhere else. Take the 7 ch frsky receivers .. ?7.02 from GS. .?20+ from anywhere else even China...and brushless motors from ?2 or less. I am happy to be used
  19. Thanks both .. will try some then .. it has been kept sealed darkish and cool I think so maybe it will be OK. ..let me dig one of those noisy smelly engines out
  20. Hi All Having been electric for many moons after a bit of a show career I have some glow fuel stacked up and wondered if it would be any good or what I could do with it. I have several plastic 5 litre cans of straight, 5% and 10% glow fuel .. all about 15 years since they were used. Will they be any good? Can I revitalise them? If not where can I dispose of them? Thanks .. have a couple of I/C planes I was thinking of digging out and wondered if I could use any of it.
  21. I saw the helis .. less than £20 for a 450 kit .. I did wonder but thought I had ordered enough!! My first 2 orders have just been despatched so that is pretty good. .ordered 11th and 12th. ..85 items to check off soon Edited By Mark Stringer on 15/05/2015 13:00:40 Edited By Mark Stringer on 15/05/2015 13:09:13
  22. And finally the tail wheel .... this was awkward due to the rear mounted servo so I came up with a tiller design for this Standard tail wheel mount expoxied to the bottom (needs some paint touching up now) with the shaft passing through the tail plane ..this will make it a little trickier to remove but not too bad This uses its grommet on top of the tail with a retainer to maintain the height .. then bent like a boat tiller to pass through another retainer .. but this time it does not have the screw in so the tiller is free to slide through this retainer, which in turn can pivot in the servo arm. The length makes it neat at mid position and sticks out further as it turns - hope that makes sense! This works really well and smooth and gives an amount of tail wheel movement in keeping with the amount of rudder movement I also replaced the tail servo with an EMAX ES08MAII .. a little heavier I think but stronger then the earlier one and it comes with a lovely long servo arm that did the job perfectly A view with it turned So that is it .. no more updates unless I get some video .. all done .. and very happy with it I am too!!
