  1. We're getting closer Alan. It was around 1990 my son started to fly, then I got involved and he has stopped a long time ago. I'll speak to some of our senior guys I'm just a young pensioner!
  2. Alan, the that would make more sense. I'm a member (secretary) of Ulster Model Aircraft Club and it was bought at our swap meet. I'm not.completely certain but it may have been among some stuff from a late.member. I would.have love a picture or even better a plan but sound like I'll have difficulty getting that. Thanks for your reply
  3. Top wing doesn't seem stable enough with only end struts. There is also the bolts either side of the fuselage which would seem to be in the correct place, can't see any other reason for them. A lot of pencil marks for a commercial kit. Appreciate the help, hopefully someone can come up with the.answer 😁
  4. Yes I do have a sense of humour but I've searched for that without success. Also on that same label it say Ulster Model Club and I don't think they call it that either 🤣🤓 the.plane that is!
  5. A friend bought this biplane @ a swapmeet and gave it to me. Looks to have been a plan build with 46" wing span. The top and bottom have been permanently glued together so to remove the wings the undercarriage has to be removed! There was no carbane struts with it and no marks on top wing to fit one. However there are 2 bolts on each sides of the fuselage which I presume something is joined to??? If you know what the model is I would be happy to know or which plan it is built from as I can't find it. All help appreciated
  6. I have an Irish friend stopped by the police for driving down the middle of the road at 70m.p.h. When stopped the policeman asked him what he was doing, my friend said according to the highway code he was entitled to do it. T he police officer asked where it said that in the highway code? He took his out booklet and pointed to the little flap where it said "tear along the dotted line."
  7. In our club the ic/electric mix is probably 50/50. I have ne problem with folks flying electric I just love an engine. As for me it is all part of the hobby, some like ARTF, some scratch build, some buy broken and repair, they all get satisfaction from whatever floats their boat. If I didn't have an engine I would fly electric but while engines are still available it's the way for me. They are dirty, smelly but so is a dog!
  8. Jon That's a whole topic I would be interested in, living in Northern Ireland we can't get the bulk deals o fuel you can due to transport. The carrier needs a special licence to legally ship fuel so to make it economical we would need to buy 250gls (a full palette). Needless to say that is far beyond us. We used to be able to get it 50gls at a time but that is no long viable. Is methanol readily available? Can't believe nitro would be easily picked up in Northern Ireland!! Please keep us informed with your friends bio ethanol trials.
  9. Barry you have been a great help to me it is truly appreciated and thanks is due. I have the original problem all sorted with you assistance.
