  1. not 1 favorite but 3 Gangster 63 merco 61 object of much desire whilst learning. Stringalong with a 4 stroke finally my OD ruperts dad
  2. Back in 2000 my other half was glancing through the latest mag when she spotted an ad for flying holidays , that sounds good she said can we find out more? The ad was for RC Hotel we went 17 times.
  3. I have 2 contenders first a 1/4 scale pitts from KC models in Essex flew like a homesick brick the second was a Quest Thumper it shared many of the Pitts failings but wasn't as pretty.

  5. Whilst the power of modern motors is greater than the old tech no one has raised the question of weight. As it was designed for the Merco I would suggest a similar weight engine be used or be prepared for large lumps of church roof to be bolted up front.

  7. How about a D/F model. That engine will not be happy wth a 10 or 11inch prop.
  8. I dpm't recall any Merco using phillip head screws. Perhaps someone has recut the threads.
  9. I have several Dremel tools including a mains powered multi tool BUT far and away the most usefuk is a 7.2 volt cordless fitted with a chuck.
  10. I used to work for Makita and they were testing oil levels of 200:1 in 2 St petrol engines . This was to meet Californian proposed laws.
  11. Just north of biggleswade on the A1 there is a company called Tempsford stained glass They are located in an old school maybe the 2 business's would compliment each other??
  12. Both my favs come from when wings were used for flight (rather then motor power) 2 models that were flown to death GANGSTER 63 with merco 61 and STRINGALONG various motors from merco 61 through to ASP80fs
  13. Think non shrinking dope is available from full size aircraft suppliers try asking at your local airfield.
  14. Remember exhaust residue is always hot when it strikes the airframe.
