  1. A demonstration of great skill by this pilot when the engine on his Spitfire quits and he has to execute a down wind landing to stand any chance of getting it home safely
  2. Something different ! Cartoon interpretation of an F-14 Tomcat. Goes together easily but has a couple of issues which caused a take off failure on the 1st attempt. 2nd attempt good though and looked awesome in the air !
  3. Double EDF jet launch and some hilarious action while the guys try to fly through the trees of doom at Weston Park International Airshow
  4. I had a good chat with him at Old Warden ModelAir event a few weeks ago so was shocked to hear this news late yesterday. He always had an infectious enthusiasm for RC flight photography and a unique character and energy on RC show and event flightlines as he glided around taking fantastic images through his big lenses. Rest in peace Alex.
  5. Steve Holland flies his exceptional scratch built scale replica of the DH.88 Comet G-ACSS 'Grosvenor House' that won the famous 1934 England-Australia MacRobertson Air Race from the United Kingdom to Australia. This model is powered by 2 Zenoah 74s. and in total it cost Steve £5000 in materials to build it. Wingspan: 22 ft Length: 14 ft 6in Height: 5 ft Engines: two Zenoah Z74 twins with trumpets. Each has a 1 1/2 litre tank. Props: Menz 26×8 turning at 6300rpm. Weight: 150 lb
  6. I've heard about these Lidl glider RC conversions but never seen one. Got the chance to see a few fly at Wimborne MFC. Quite amazed how well they fly. Especially the glide characteristics.
  7. Compressed highlights of most of the action from Weston Park International Airshow. Enjoy !
  8. Onboard my Durafly Night Tundra during the explosive night pyrotechnic flying slot at Weston Park International Airshow. Amazed it came back in one piece ! This is a 360 video. Scroll the video around using your mouse pointer or by moving your smart phone/tablet.
  9. Just an awesome sight to see these big jets fly together.
  10. Luke Metcalf flying this in true scale style at Weston Park International Airshow 2022. Lightning by name and he flies it like Lightning. I had trouble keeping up. Full after burners and tight turns. TERRIFIC ! Span: 176 cm Length: 284 cm Engine: B300F turbine (320N thrust) Built by Paul from the Airworld Modellbau kit. 9 litres of fuel onboard in two 4.5 litre tanks.
  11. The yellow Waco built and flown by Greg was built from a Barth kit (Germany) and the other Waco was built from an American AMR kit at the same scale. They weigh 23kg and the 29kg respectively and both are powered by Blackstar 250cc 5 cylinder 4 stroke radials from Tomahawk Aviation throwing 32x16 propellors. Both Wacos use Futaba radio with Powerbox sbus systems for guidance.
  12. Twin turbine jet pack test by Marc Leavesely, paragliding instructor, at Weston Park 2022
  13. Formation RC flying doesn't get any better than this. Onboard action captured with the Insta360 ONE X2 action camera. Azza and Sonny on the sticks controlling these 60% scale Bill Hempel clipped wing Cubs.
  14. Great scale flight from the owner of this seriously large Lama scale RC helicopter. The owner shared with me that it is made by Vario and powered by a Kontronic Pyro 800 brushless motor on 12S 10,000 mah. Maximum 10 minutes flight time on a good day. Filmed at a recent AHA Scale Fly In.
  15. Jamie Cuff flying his 3 channel Fairey Albacore at the recent Model Air event hosted at Old Warden Aerodrome. Not an easy thing to fly without ailerons and all that dihedral in the strong breeze we had going on most of the day.
  16. Didn't get a chance to ask the pilot...but is this a Magnatilla? Looks a lot larger than the standard Flair kit would be. Any more info appreciated so I can have the detail correct in the video. Thanks in advance.
  17. Looked to me like he was beside it but mostly behind. He wasn't taking his A test otherwise I guess he would have made very clear he was following BMFA handbook guidance to the letter.
  18. I filmed a few aircraft on the RC line on Saturday. They will be posted to my thread here https://www.modelflying.co.uk/forums/index.php?/topic/36414-essential-rcs-videos Good to meet you @Ron Gray and thanks to others for sharing details of their models after they landed...
  19. First video from the Model Air event hosted at Old Warden Aerodrome. You won't see a cuter nitro/glow powered Tiger Moth. Who wouldn't want one of these in their hangar?
  20. Scratch built to perfection. My favourite thing to film.
  21. With our new Arduino based head tracker the FPV experience is complete. Just brilliant flying experience and the head tracking enables me to concentrate 100% on the flying and not panning/tilting the camera with other controls.
  22. Thanks Ron! I did the cheater mod and fitted a new EDF and certainly flew a lot better. Thanks again !
  23. They don't come any bigger than this. An awesome display of this monster sized ARF by Steve Carr at the Popham Model Show. Wingspan: 180 in (4.58M) Wing Area: 6290 sq in (40580sq cm) Fuselage length: 161 in(4.1M), empty weight with hardware 65.9 lbs (29.9kg) Engine: 400cc min (Self designed/built 550cc engine used by Steve Carr)
  24. Having challenges with this myself Ron. Not so much with it being underpowered although I am intrigued what 'simple mod' you made. I couldn't find details in your video? Mine has very strange roll characteristics but has flown better with reduced throws, expo and use of the gyro feature in my FrSky S9R receiver.
