The alore is further enhanced by the legs finishing mid thigh. They know how to live in Cumbria, the county where family trees are straight lines
  2. While we are at it, here's the Standard Wire Gauge and their metric sizes **LINK**
  3. Looking good Dylan, just the fuselage, wings, tail and engine to go
  4. Lets be clear, Orange are NOT fakes they are sold as being a compatible RX for Spektrum, from what I understand they reverse engineered the protocol to mimic Spektrum RX's and HK market them as such, then there are "genuine" fake Spektrum RX's If you use a fake spekky then you really have no idea what the outcome is going to be, you might be lucky and fly happily one the other hand you might be taking the walk of shame with a bin liner...... If you buy an Orange, then you are on a little firmer ground, especially in a tried and tested config (RX v TX) BUT of course there is the risk that as Spektrum develop and upgrade the protocols and firmware then the Orange's level of compatibility may well be degraded/lost (and its NOT Spektrum's fault! before anyone has a go) And HK really SHOULD warn people about any potential compatibility issues (ie the RX6 v DX6i problems extensively discussed in another thread) I guess a good analogy is brake pads in cars, you can get a set amazingly cheaply or you can pay a lot of money, in this scenario which would you buy? But if you opt for the £19.99 brake pads don't blame Ferrari if it all goes horribly wrong
  5. I reckon I need pilots that bale out with working parachutes......
  6. **LINK** Haven't seen those since I was a teenager and doing free flight and rubber.....

  8. Going to watch this with interest, the WW1 Pushers have always been a favorite type of hairyplane of mine and its a De Havilland too what more could you ask for
  9. OK, now this one isn't tongue in cheek, it really is something that irrationally makes my blood boil instantly, a red mist descends and I want to put my foot through the TV The "One Show" theme music...................
  10. Posted by Martian on 28/08/2014 13:20:58: I probably am the cause of a few rants ,love to do F1 starts at traffic lights especially if it's 2 lanes going in the same direction I know Im old enough to know better Snap, slip the Jag into Sport, downshift the paddle to 1, flip the parking break switch on, foot hovers over the loud pedal.... let the dimwit in the Audi start to roll, then Whoooooosh....... especially when there is a speed camera coming up and you have set the speed limiter to 40........ then let him overtake and say to yourself "smile for the camera"
  11. There you go.................... **LINK**
  12. You might also look at this description of how the way the balsa tree is cut into "planks" affects the properties of the sheets we buy in the shops..... again its horses for courses depending on what you want to do with that lump of wood, spars or a nose block etc **LINK**

  14. Posted by Erfolg on 27/08/2014 21:35:30: Why does the UK have miles of coned of motorway lanes, with nothing happening, wherever you go. Other countries do not seem as incompetent as we Brits. Edited By Erfolg on 27/08/2014 21:37:17 If they didn't store the cones on the Motorway they would have to rent a warehouse.......
  15. Draw up one template, cut it out, drill the holes, place it over the board drill the holes, bolt them together and cut the second one out, sand true using an engineers square, unbolt and bobs your uncle
  16. And every development like this, pushes battery development a bit further It wont be long till we are calling them "ICasouruses"
  17. Posted by Andrew Price 2 on 26/08/2014 23:10:39: Pete. I was 69 earlier this month, sadly. I remember Ms Bush very well. Was more of a Blondie person me!! I suppose she was more obvious and what that says about me I do not know! Kate was truely groundbreaking, but, twas a long time ago though and her coming out of the woodwork today doesn't seem to justify the fuss. I promise not to interupt your fantasies in future. And the subject of many a teenagers fantasies.........
  18. Yoofs who say "whatever" (frequently including my daughter) The phrase "its mint" - No! its good maybe even great but its not mint flavoured When my computer wants to replace an S with a Z - Listen yanks its called English STOP messing with it! 20. Thanks for all the suggestions, but they all use 8S which would mean lashing out on a bigger charger Hmmm to upgrade or downsize that is the question..... SWMBO may have some input into this decision I fear!!!!

  22. I'm thinking of getting an Apache Aviation Chipmunk for the winter build Here **LINK** Its spec'd for a 120 4 Stroke or 25cc Petrol - with an estimated weight of 13lb the 100w per Lb rule gives me a 1300W motor that seem a bit low to me. So I was thinking of a Eflite Power 52 (overpowered @ 1650, I know but only 590 Kv so it will sound better running probably of a 4S (though I will experiment with a 3S) with an 80A Esc Any thoughts?
  23. Hi David As a relative novice too, I would suggest that you look at a trainer considerably bigger than that one, bigger models help keeping the orientation and can float really slowly giving you more thinking time! Any good club will advise on whats good for their field and what radio matches their instructors so the main advise is talk to the club before your parted with your cash I would also advise investing in a decent simulator, t will help a great deal, especially if your site has a digital photo file you can down load, its also good fun when normal UK weather intervenes you can sit at home and crash Spitfires all day without shedding a tear!
  24. While its in my head/browser... When buying Emulsion it is possible to have a specific colour matched either by a swatch or by a Colour Code Number B&Q Mixing Machines accept either the British Standard Code OR the RAL Code Number US Military Aircraft are colour coded by Federal Colour Code Number, that FS number can be converted using this **LINK** There is (as previously stated) an excellent US Colour Listing by the IPMS Stockholm here **LINK** I haven't found a full list for Brits but this has some of the colour codes **LINK**
  25. It looks like the factory glued the bottom of the servo into the hole, I would be tempted to buy a exact parkzone replacement servo, undo the 4 screws to remove the mechanism and electric bits, then fit the new internals onto the old (fixed in) lower servo cover plate..... That is providing that type of servo released and did not disturb all the internals and gear train in the process of removing it The other option is to dig out the old cover plate and replace with any reputable servo of the same size BUT it is inevitable you will tear out some of the foam in that process..... might cause the dug out hole to extend right through the fuselage and damage the exterior surface......
