Batteries and receiver.
Alan Pennington replied to Alan Pennington's topic in General Radio Discussion
Hello Ken. I know it seems that electric model do run with less vibration but what about the take off and landings for here you have all the bumps and things on take off and then you have the controlled crash (ha, ha) at landing time. Anyway how you doing? -
I can remember when I started to fly models that the battery and receiver should be well rapped in foam. But now a days I see in magazines photos of radio gear just stuck to the sides ok with what looks like a thine bit of foam???? Is it now that receivers are better made to with stand the vibrations or are we more getting a bit that will do attitude about our radio gear now a days. Would like to know your thoughts on this, just to see how you all secure your receiver and battery.

Alan Pennington replied to Andrew767's topic in Flying Field Reports and Chat
Here I am the sun is shining its in the low 30's a nice low wind speed and all I'm doing is working on renovating the house so we can try and get out of this country and back to civilization. -
Hello Ted, Glad to here all turned out well with your insurance. Here in France you can not sign for your house and have the keys at the solicitors with out proof of house insurance.

Hello everyone, I'm looking for help again, I have found in my plans a sports model called "Freebird" designed by Terry Eato it was a free plan in a RCM & E mag in April 1992. Is there anybody with a copy of this magazine as I would love a copy of the build article. Thanking you in advance, Alan

Hi again Andrew, You will be better looked on if you are a bit of a pest than doing something that could cause a problem. It is better to ask alot of questions, as to me makes you come across somebody who wants to know all there is about this great and diverse hobby. If your club is a good one thay will encourage you to ask questions, so it's better to join now and get help in setting up your model so it's right first time. There is nothing more to get you peed off with flying than spending flying days still trying to get your model right. We all been there and got the tee shirt to prove it. Sorry for going on but people can get dissatisfied at the start very quickly. Anyway good look. Cheers Alan Edited By Alan Pennington on 19/04/2016 22:23:35

Hello Andrew, With these questions you have asked I think you need to join a club, as I have found there will be more than one person more than willing to go over your plane and give advise like this, and of course other questions that will come up as you go along. This is what I found when I joined a club. Alan

Hi Ernie. By the sounds of it you do have a blockages some where. When you fill the sink and let the water go does it go fast or slowly, if this is slowly then you have some blockage after the water trap of the dishwasher. If not then it sounds like the water trap has a small blockage and when the water comes from the machine it just backs up, the other thing is the pipe that the flex goes into is this tall enough or big enough to take the amount of water. If it has worked in the past then something has is blocking it. Do try the sink idea first as we all send muck down the sink hole and this does build up over time I should now it's happened at our house. Let me know how it goes I might be able to give you other ideas. Cheers Alan

Alan Pennington replied to Den Moran's topic in All Things Model Flying
Hello Den, I see you in swansea, there is a flying club at Gorseinon. I was a member there once till I moved out here in France. I did find them very helpful in all things from I/C, electric through to turbine. Try them. Alan Edited By Alan Pennington on 06/03/2016 15:28:19 -

Hi Chris, I don't know what part of Manchester you are at, but there was a club at Ashton-under-Lyme near the sports ground and there was a club close to the centre of Manchester on a large grass area with football fields on. Sorry being vage and its been a long time since I lived in the Manchester area. Alan
