  1. Thanks Guys, I got my answer and will use 4 tanks. That's a great article by Frank but a bit scary. Sounds like a maiden flight might only include a take off and that's only a "might". If you do get it up then that's only the start of it. However if you don't have a crack at it you will never know the experience.
  2. Is there a thread on this site on how to plumb up a four engine IC fuel tank system. I am into a B17 Marutaka Kit and I have 4 OF FS26 engines that I have set up on a test board with 4 throttle servos on 4 channels running through 2 SBD-1 Futaba Decoders. Would I use 4 tanks, a pair of tanks or just one tank and how would I set up the tubing, vents and pressure tubes from the mufflers if multi engines were of one tank. Thanks if you can help.
  3. Richard Steane, I am starting mine and want to go electric. What size is the 3s battery, watt wise and how long is the flight time? Could you also tell me the motors sizes Kv, and are they 2836 or make model. I havent done twin electric before so did you use two ESC or one big enough for both motors?
  4. Balancing and some technical info for you all. I have a 3s 3300 40C Zippy Compact battery up front. My motor is a 35-48 900Kv 815Watt. The model is built to the plans as best I can but it is nose light. The drawings put the CoG at around 100mm back from the LE on the main Spa. With the balance machine on that spot the nose was well up. I have had to add 280 grams of lead into the nose to fix this. The picture below is after installing the lead. I use wheel lead strips that are self adhesive. they are 12 segments of 7 grams per segment, per strip. 12 segments are in the engine bay beside and under the motor because the further forward the less weight you need. The rest are in the battery bay. Any thoughts on this?
  5. Monty, 2-56 threaded rod from Du-bro. They also do metal 2-56 clevis (1 pair in a bag).
  6. Thanks Colin. Monty I am looking forward to seeing your pictures.
  7. The New Zealand Jocasta is also complete. Despite all of the drawing issues it eventually came off the build bench today. The Pink and Purple livery (Hobby King Film) sort of grows on you. My wings are bolt on rather than rubber bands as I prefer bolts. I am pretty pleased with the result and I am looking forward to her maiden flight soonish. 8. I did that Jim and I then had three wing sections. Using me straight-edge I lined up the leading edge and lifted the wingtips 47mm at the wingtip rib. This matched the dihedral brace angle perfectly. Interestingly the port wing was made when we had a hot day and the starboard one was made the next week when the weather was more humid. The starboard wing panel is 4mm longer that the port. I suspect that the paper plan had shrunk with the dryer weather. If I had of noticed that before I joined the three sections, I would have added a 4mm thick wing root rib to extend that panel and corrected the difference.
