  1. I'm about halfway through my nijhuis 46" spitfire. And I have a mick reeves 1/6th spit on the go aswell im also thinking about joining in with the tucano mass build I will post some pictures when I get a minute. Cheers woody.
  2. Thanks for taking the time to reply graham, I'm glad I asked the question now! i do have lots if 25g glass cloth so I was going to use that, I will pop out and get some sanding sealer b&q don't sell it do they? It's just that the lms is a long way and a nightmare to park, and I live close to b&q. I was also considering painting it in the same colour scheme as yours as it looks great and is a bit different than all camouflage ones! Woody. Edited By woody on 31/12/2012 10:21:47

  4. Hi all, I am currently building a tony nijhuis 46" spitfire and I'm looking at covering it with light weight glass cloth and eze kote, I was wondering if anyone has any experience using this? I have watched a short video of it on you tube and it looks good, or is it better to use epoxy? Cheers woody

    HAPPY CHRISTMAS

Merry Christmas to all on the forum!! Cheers woody
  7. Hi scott, it was designed for a 6v 400 brushed motor nimh cells, and two 9g servos, but i think an equivelent brushless motor and lipo will do a great job just a cheap giant shark one will do something quite high revving as it needs to swing a small 5" prop You never know i might build you one when i get board of eating and drinking over christmas!! Merry Christmas.
  8. I built this Tony Nijhuis ME109 for a friend for christmas, hope he likes it!!

  11. It is sad that Filton is closing, even more so as its my clubs flying site!! concorde is going to be moved from its current spot to the other side of the runway where the Bristol aero club are, I think they have been given the listed buildings there.
  12. Any of those would be great thanks guys. woody.
  13. The air leaks will cause the hot running for sure, is there good enough air cooling entry and exit points on the model?
  14. Hi Marky Go on giant shark or robot birds and order yourself a frsky module it's the best budget 2.4ghz system And rx's are cheap, I've used it in a 9 and 10c with no problems. There is also a review of it on rc model reviews web site. I use the 4 channel rx's in small electric models and the 8 channel ones in my 30cc petrols regards woody
  15. Use castrol 2t racing oil, you can get it from halfords, it's one of the best 2 stroke oils you can get its what I have always used in my petrols.
  16. I would wet it, then clamp it straight and it should be fine when dry Woody.
  17. I agree with Colin an article on glassing models with epoxy, polyester and water based resins. Also painting with different paints humbrol, tamiya and such like, or even as other people on the forum are using household paints! be it sprayed on or brushed on. cheers woody
  18. Thanks for the input guys, Steve it's a 1/6 scale mick reeves spitfire and I have 40g cloth, I think I may need lighter cloth? My workshop is well ventilated so smell is not to much of a problem, just hoping for a good durable finish, I am new to glassing so I will be doing some test pieces first. woody
  19. Hi all I have been given some polyester resin and glass cloth by a friend which I'm thinking of covering my spitfire wing and tail with, it's from chemie technique. I was wondering if it's any good or not as I have never used it? I would be grateful of any help or hints and tips, Thanks Woody
  20. Puffin models are a bit different their not like a normal model shop, their run from an industrial unit and nothing is out for you to look at its all in boxes, they also don't stock all the little bits and pieces your lms would, however their very good at what they do and very knowledgable. And what they do sell is very good quality.
  21. It is Ian harper models, Fred sold the business to ian he has a web site
  22. I thinks that's the one left, its called Ian harper models now
  23. I see that Als hobbies have closed their Bristol branch, this must be another sign of the times! If they can't make it pay who can? Its a shame as it only leaves Bristol with one real model shop. Woody
  24. So can i then assume as i have no smell its epoxy? I have sanded off bits left behind from the moulding process and there was no noticeable smell, although i did have a mask on. thanks for all the replys Woody.
