  1. Multiplex fun cub with an upgraded motor & 2200 3s Lipo gives me enough grunt to climb vertical, or aerotow a 2m glider, or cruise around for 15 mins + doing touch & goes & low level aerobatics. A 2700 battery would last even longer but I've never felt the need. Use a radio with telemetry & you don't have to guess how much battery power you have left. Al
  2. These are great flyers. You'll love it. Al

  7. Well the little Lightning has been to the slope twice now & both times the lift was not as predicted & too light. Hopefully it'll grt it's maiden soon. Al
  8. All done bar gluing the CA hinges & balance. Hopefully maiden in the next couple of weeks. It came out a bit rough but should be good for the local slope where landings are made by picking a soft tree/bush & dropping it in. Al

  14. I thought I'd post a few pics of my Lightning built for PSS from Tony's plans. Not finished yet but almost there. Al

  18. Thanks. I may just have to build one of these. Al
  19. I have an Elf (3 actually) and recently bought a broken Mefisto which I've now repaired but not yet flown. I did see it fly before it's mishap though & was a good flier. The build is very straight forward & the gear supplied is more than adequate. The Elf is absolutely perfect for those 5-10kt days. Floats on very light lift but will still motor along when the lift picks up, especially if you ballast it. Just keep in mind for the Elf that it's not designed to be a racer so it's light & not bullet proof. You can flutter the tail when ballasted & the fuselage will break around the wing saddle if you bash it in on landing. If you want something a bit tougher the 2m First + is a great all round sloper & much more hardy than the elf. The Hammer is also really nice & if it wasn't for the shipping & $ conversion rates to Australia I'd have a Vampire. Those are extraodinary value for what they are & fly great. I thoroughly recommend their kits. Al
  20. Ton, What wing section(s)did you use on this? Regards. Al
  21. I have had this on my "to do" list for a very long time. Sadly my to do list is very long & I build slow. It's a great looking thing & I was looking to electric as you are. I hadn't made it to the "which motor" stage but 200 watts should do it. I'll be watching closely. Al
  22. I finally found a copy of the Autumn Special today so I have my copy of the plan. Thanks Tony. Looks great. Mine will be built as a slope soarer & has a few builds in front of it but I'll post some pics once it's underway. Al
  23. Great pics. There's some top looking models there. Our Annual slope festival at Manilla Australia is just 3 weeks away. I'm looking forwards to getting back on the hill. Al
