  1. You'll still need £500 to get going though, and that to me is serious dosh to spend on a toy plane .But for that I have a beautifully made model, fitted out with good quality gear (85mg's all round). This quote, along with Andy E's testimonial, sealed the deal for me: "Feels like a pattern plane without power, floats like an Easyglider." which came from here:http://www.soaringcomposites.com/?page_id=93
  2. Hi Richard - I was looking at a page page today on Glue-it.com (I think - Alex sent me the link) where someone was flying their Fox off a cliff somewhere between Amroth and Pendine.I think your best bet is to grab an OS map and follow your sloping nose (which you should have developed by now!) as I'm sure there are plenty of opportunities for flying down there .
  3. Ha! Do you think it's any easier for us workers? (sorry for swearing Mr Mod). I have been able to see my children's toes since I first chucked my WT!
  4. As you may know Ken I have a Luna that promises to be a good all rounder for not much (comparatively) money. It shouldn't be too long before it gets maidened, so I will be posting my comments on this forum. Watch this space!
  5. BTW Tim - try Sloperacer  Hang on - does Ian have any? Doesn't look like it. Sorry Tim! Edited By Matthew Lloyd on 15/02/2010 14:20:39
  6. Lump hammer AND angle grinder? Lee, you are spoiling me!
  7. My Luna has left the house - and when it returns it shall have radio in it and flappy bits that move. All courtesy of the fabulous, helpful and informed crew posting on this forum.  Thank you RCM&E Now, bring on those Westerlies!
  8. Nice Tucano  Dunno who does an EPP Hawk - but I'd also like one please. It can't be that difficult for someone to knock up some wings for us - a simple EPP fuz could be fashioned in the LEG style. Hmmm, thinking cap on now
  9. I just thought I should chime in and apologise for not posting a build blog for this model - I have been rather distracted of late (well, the last 6 months!), and I'm hoping Lee will be able to sort it out for me soon. Maybe he's up for posting some pics on my behalf?
  10. Cheers Timbo  Very distracted of late, but I have plans to get the Luna up with a little help from a friend
  11. Wildthing of course   But previously - when I first got into this game - it was my Carl Goldberg Eaglet.   50" of lightweight three channel fun, it flew beautifully on an OS15 (yes, a 15!), and taught me everything I've since forgotten. A superb kit, with amazing instructions, I still have the wing in the shed .
  12. Lovely pics Al - keep that flame burning for me  I'm sure to be back on the slope soon.
  13. Posted by Timbo - Administrator on 19/10/2009 21:08:42: Alan PREFERS calls in the evening rather than during day. Ooo - TImbo - you are naughty!
  14. No, it's to do with pointy noses. And our fetish for them  Tim's even had his hands on mine! That 70" looks the mutts. The LX looks the mutts. Hell - they ALL look fabulous!
  15. You could also try pylon racing using Timbo and Alex as pylons - that's fun too! Another pennyworth - go for Sanyo Eneloop batteries.Anything else Nimh is almost a waste of money. These packs just go on and on, which means more time on the slope and more chances of knocking foam out of the sky  Oh, and stick a battery monitor in there too - about £8 a pop. Before you know it you'll have a Luna sat in your shed waiting to be put together...
  16. This all looks very familiar. (apart from my use of tinned vegetables instead of a few quid's worth of volts!)
  17. Nice one Al - what a way to spend your birthday (and yes Tim, all the best folk are born in August )I'm sorry I couldn't make it today - I'm on the long haul at a crucial stage of my project, and I'm racing against the impending autumn. I've never used a strimmer for so long in my life! My neighbours just love me!  Anybody fancy building my Luna for me?
