Just wondered if anybody has any info on the CofG for the seagull turbo raven. Im going to try mine with more weight on the front and feel like its a do or die effort to get it to fly. Glenn

Flew my mini astrohog (thats what the seller called it) bought at Weston new in box. Put an OS 32 in and even though today was a bit wild and windy it flies very sweetly. Glenn -
Dennis Sorry I didnt get back on the c of g, the distance from leading edge to tube center is 125mm, That is where I balanced the plane. I intend to push the c of g forward maybe to 100mm and try again. Glenn
-
Anthony, where did you have the c of g? I.m sure mine is tail heavy Glenn
-
I forgot to say, its the OS55 max virtually new, pulled a wot 4 round very well. Glenn

Tried my Turbo raven yesterday, the thing was unflyable! dropped left wing as soon as it got off the ground and luckily didnt do any damage. Got one of my expert mates to try it after changing prop from a 12x6 to a 12x8 as it didnt seem quick enough to avoid a stall, He managed to get it into air but fought a difficult battle to keep it flying and dropped it in long grass. Just bent the undercarriage a bit so took it home to think about it (or sell it!) C of g is 145mm from leading edge at root in the manual but various forums all said to bring it forward a bit so mine is nose heavy at 135mm. Can anyone who flys his tell me where it balances? Regards Glenn

Hobbyking sell a 2100 life 2 cell transmitter pack that I use for receiver in planes that could be used if a bit of the tx case was trimmed a bit, a seller on ebay has hitec batteries for £30 but postage from germany is £14.30 Glenn -

I use the charger it came with, not turned backlight down or contrast. Voltage stays at 6.7 volts as long as I need. Try another battery. Glenn -

seagull wing bolt size
Glenn Stevenson replied to Glenn Stevenson's topic in All Things Model Flying
Cheers Bruce Ive been looking around and they look more like unc than unf. my aching thumbs struggle with 4 tight bolts and not much space to get at em. Glenn -
Hi anybody know what the size is for wingbolts in seagull models, the threads in my turbo raven are poor and i want to put some threaded bar in and use wing nuts. Thanks Glenn

Hi Paul How did you get the cowl round the silencer, did you split it at the back? Glenn
-
Stephen, Not sure how I can get a wren turbine in this little plane!
-
The 91 will fit in the cowl without too much cutting and sounds much nicer, our airstrip could be a bit smoother but is plenty big enough. I have trouble making these difficult decisions!

Hi, I picked up a Seagull turbo raven artf new in box at Weston, anybody had one of these, trying to decide on an engine. I have a 91fs or a OS55ax or maybe one or two others. the 91 is a favourite but may not provide the performance to make it fly well. As usual all comments are welcome. Glenn

I put my Laser 80 into a Seagull isport, really happy with it, the carburetion is perfect, starts easy and has plenty of power. Its too attractive to cover with a cowl though. Thanks for all the comments Glenn
-
Thanks everybody for clarification. Looking forward to trying this engine. Glenn

Hi, I have installed a Laser 80 in my seagull i-sport and am trying to work out the tank breather, I gather it should just be a tube straight out the front somewhere but wouldnt that let the fuel run out when inverted? Thanks Glenn
