  1. when I test a tank I submerge it in water and pressurise it (blow into it) the bubbles come out around the screw hole, if air can come out then so can fuel.
  2. ive had it with lots of tanks, usually the ones in artf models, usually put a slec or dubro in and all ok. the one ive got now is a good fit in my model and may be difficult to find a replacement.
  3. Glow fuel tank How do people stop air leak from the screw in the middle of the bung? Glenn
  4. If you still have this engine I would like to buy it. Regards Glenn Stevenson
  5. I feel that it is a shame that our last magazine for our hobby is becoming rather dull and has lost many of the interesting articles that used to make it worthwhile, I dont think I will renew my subscription in future if changes arent made. I have just started reading the recent mag and realised that I havent read last months due to the tedious content. Its almost as bad as the bmfa comic. Regards Glenn
  6. How are our Welsh friends enjoying the new 20mph limits? Hard to believe that normal folk can be happy.
  7. I always imagined our hobby attracted intelligent people however it would appear that a number of us have fallen for the net zero cult (FOR THE GREATER GOOD!) The people that run the world must be rolling in the aisles.
  8. Thanks for the replies, I will let you know if we resolve this. Glenn
  9. Any body had to deal with the travellers, somebody left the gate open and weve been invaded, it was a lovely field but it will be a mess by the time they go. I dont suppose the gate will be there anymore either. We rent the field from the council so I dont expect them to get off their backsides for some time. Sad Glenn
  10. Its rather sporty with the 160, my first Dragon Lady had a laser 90 and was quite sedate, it was sad to see the wings come off and destroyed the plane. Very easy to fly though floats in to land nicely every time. Glenn
  11. My DL is my second one after the wing bolt snapped (plastic). I use metal bolts now. Flies great with the 160 v twin Glenn
  12. I,m on my second Dragon Lady now, just fitted a laser 160 v twin which should be very pleasant to fly. Glenn
  13. Thanks for the help, I couldnt see a way of making the tank work. I,l have to look for a suitable airframe for the v twin. Glenn
  14. Hi, Ive got an acrowot xl that flys nicely with a 180 laser, I picked up a 160 laser v twin and wondered if it would be suitable for my spare acrowot xl. Any body tried this? Its lighter than the 180 but I suspect it may not be powerful enough, though it should pull higher revs I imagine. Thanks Glenn
  15. Crankcase breathers were on it when I got it, previous owner must have broke the carb support on the backplate and replaced it with one off different engine.
  16. Looking at the new engine on just engines, I think you are right! Glenn
  17. I have to manage with my back bedroom come office, at least its warm Glenn
  18. Lovely to get out again, bit gusty but maidened the Wots-wot Glenn
  19. Oddly the compression has improved without touching it, cant keep running it in my garden (neighbours!) so I,l try it at the field when the wind drops. Valve springs dont seem as strong as my laser 80 so that might be a factor, probably cant get them though. Glenn
  20. I.l ask him, I don't have the dimensions though. Thanks Glenn
  21. I have an old Laser 90 that has been pulling my Dragon Lady round for a few years but it has lost its ability to rev out, It pulled a 15x6 very nicely and sounded very crisp but it has dropped to just over 7000 max now, I popped the head off and the valves seat without leaking and valve clearances were ok. It has poor compression compared to my other laser engines and I wondered if piston rings might be worth changing. I realise Jon isn't interested in old engines but someone might know where I can find some rings. Thanks Glenn
