  1. I’m looking for personal experiences of owning a PC connected vinyl cutter please and if there are any recommendations? Thanks
  2. Posted by Wingman on 20/01/2019 18:10:31: Gentlemen - read the original post - provide a concise answer - don't waffle on cos people might think you're old fuddy duddys Hahahaha. I was happy with post#2 from Geoff Sleath and currently awaiting a Prime evening delivery from Amazon for a cheappo unit.
  3. I am not convinced I am getting full power out of the motor / ESC combo on my Acrowot foam E (received the plane second hand in more than one piece). So looking to replace them ideally with something from Hobbyking as I need to put an order in anyway. Any recommendations / thoughts please. I assume I can get better bang for my buck than the £75 Ripmax want for the pair?
  4. Thanks for the replies. Ended up emailing Hobbyking and the guys suggested their 2217 motor so went with that. Also up sized the ESC just in case.
  5. Up to now I have simply built electric planes with recommended set ups. However, I want to experiment a little so obviously need a watt meter. Are they all much of a muchness? Will a cheap one from Ebay or hobbyking cut the mustard? Thanks
  6. Out of interest, has anyone built one with a glue gun?
  7. Thanks guys, I guess its going to be UHU Por then.
  8. I took delivery of a hobbyking hummer this week. Its the xtreme version but it looks like it could just be the original rebadged with new colours. Anyway, before I start the build I wanted to receive views on what adhesives people used on their one and if any worked better than others please? Thanks
  9. I'm after buying a Hobbyking Hummer 3D EPP plane and the recommended motor is the Turnigy 2213 motor shown at the link below. However, it is not available from any of their warehouses so wondered if someone could help identify an equivalent please. similar price would be great, but doesn't have to be from hobbyking. Thanks **LINK**
  10. Thanks for the responses guys. Was about to order all I needed for the Hummer when I realised the recommended motor was out of stock everywhere. So looked at the MX2 and same again. I wouldn't mind but with all the different ways of labelling the motors I haven't a clue how to compare. Anyone know what I can get for the hummer instead of the Turnigy 2213? Thanks
  11. I'm thinking of giving 3D a go (already dabling on the simulator) and looking for recommendations on what plane to get. I'm guessing an EPP electric is my best bet for price, sturdiness and ease of fixing, but having looked on robotbird there is quite a choice. about 900mm - 1m wingspan. I currently fly a foam e Wot4 and foam e Acrowot. Any thoughts please? Thanks
  12. My take on it is you can always choose to go to a better website and pay more for the goods to fund it. If we want cheap stuff we have to accept that some elements of the purchasing experience are going to have been cost cut. Its the same as postage. As a society we want cheap (free) postage and then complain if it isn't a gold standard service.
  13. Sorry. Double post Edited By Andy C on 13/12/2018 10:22:54
  14. I built one as my first venture into RC first time round 25 years ago. Was easy to build and flew great but I crashed it due to no knowledge etc. I would love another now that I know what I am doing to experiment with fun improvements such as fly-navy also did. If anyone has one to move on let me know. 😀👍 Thanks
  15. I learnt on a Seagull EPioneer with 3s4000 batteries. Great trainer even with that voltage running through it.
  16. I have been toying with the idea of buying a cheap self assembly printer(£150 A8 type) for some time but have always been put off by not having enough time for modelling let alone learning something totally new from scratch. Just seen that Aldi are doing one for £300. I normally work on you get what you pay for, and a lot of hardware in Aldi is cheap. I can almost live with handing over £150 for something that may not be perfect, but £300 is a whole different thing. Any thoughts or experience with them on here? Thanks
  17. Thanks Peter. The ones I am looking at use a USB power pack (think back up phone charger) so would expect them to last a suitable time. From the rate of responses coming in am I to assume as a southern softy I am the only one getting cold when flying in winter?
  18. Just dug out my copy of the mag. Should have a couple of kit builds under my belt before the MB, so may well give this a go. Unfortunately I guess too big to solve my "What do I do with my Enya 40 open rocker"!
  19. Posted by David Mellor on 21/11/2018 10:42:50: There is no benefit from removing the seal. Edited By David Mellor on 21/11/2018 10:57:48 Grrrrr. Removed the seals on my 2 last night. Going to now try and get them back in and go with duct tape drilled holes!!
  20. I'm thinking of treating myself to some cheap heated gloves and thought I would check for recommendations on here before I buy some. Seem to be a lot around on Ebay and Amazon which are powered from a simple USB power pack which I like the idea of. So, anyone else tried them?
  21. I use NEW 50Cal ammo boxes from Ebay (link below). Not worth getting used old rusty ones in my opinion. Also, I thought the whole point was to keep the rubber seal in place to stop the gasses escaping in case of a problem or a battery going pop or in fact more oxygen getting in if they try and burn. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/New-50-Cal-Army-Ammo-Metal-Storage-Box-Ammunition-Surplus-Tin-Tool-Box/301820817483?hash=item4645ec304b:g:YUkAAOSwd3dZYSfa:rk:49f:0
  22. Looking for something for my old Enya 40-4c open rocker to mount onto. Was considering an old Flair Cub, but before looking for one I thought I would see what suggestions you could all come up with. Would like something semi or fully scale, but not too difficult to fly. Can be ARTF or kit (must be quick / easy to build) or in fact second hand if in good nick. Any suggestions
  23. Thanks Geoff S. Thanks ED but already bought the UHU. Ian101. Can you provide more info please about your mod. I am sure I have seen a thread on here before with your photos, but have lost it now. Am also struggling to make a first cut in a brand new fuselage! Thanks
  24. Well, got my new tube of UHU Por. Just wondered if everyone leaves theirs to go tacky before assembly as per instructions or does it make little difference in the end? Thanks
  25. Just realised that I posted a photo of the wrong on of lead. Correct end is as follows: Is this simply a 6S version of the JST-XH?
