  1. Hi all afraid to say that after moving house and now in the throws of changing job I no longer have space and time for my rc hobby. Anyone interested in a part built Stampe? wings are built and fuselage sides think it would need to be a local pick up though. I also have some other kits built Bristo M1 and a 8ft Telemaster fitted with Saito fg 14c (petrol) which is just about run in. I am considering removing engine and radio gear from telemaster to sell off. Let me know if anyone is interested the gear is in central Scotland. Cheers Scott
  2. Hi All I am using a 1200x600 ceiling tile the type you get in offices etc. this I have laid onto a half sheet of mdf 25 mm thick. This seems to work well as the pins have enough purchase before hitting the mdf. Cheers Scott
  3. Hi All Looking for some advice for servo for the wings of the Stampe. I have Futaba gear. Should I try wing servos? or more standard ones? also would digital be a better option? Cheers Scott
  4. Hi All, I think this ones still alive! And the coasters are pretty good too! Scott
  5. Hi All I returned to the hobby and really only knew glow/diesel engines. I was a bit lost with the electric choices. I decided on petrol four stroke to kich me off. I have a Saito 14c and really like it. I am know waiting on the arrival of a 30b. As a kid I loved the small engines even after a few mishaps which almost removed a finger or two. My choice is based on this which really could be seen as heart before mind. I remember dreaming of owning a four stroke but could never afford them at the time can't really afford them now! lol For me there is nothing better than the shiny well made engine although I am no expert with the tuning I do enjoy the learning curve. I feel whatever works for you is right. Cheers Scott
  6. Yes and the collective knowledge is really helpful. It's good to know if you really get stumped you can ask and get the help you need.
  7. Cheers Cymaz, the main reason for taking the kit on is your build blog and I will be going over it carefully. Looking forward to getting started! cheers again Scott
  8. Lol fair enough Martin I always get a bit freaked out over the straightness of a fuselage particularly with open frames, I find wings easier somehow.
  9. Cheers Percy! Who doesn't like building wings it's transporting them I don't like.
  10. I do hope not,I was lucky enough many years ago to have a Grandad with just enough patience to teach me some basic building technics. Now I hope to continue building for as long as I can and to encourage others too. Just about to start this one! Cheers Scott
  11. Welcome TJ from a surprisingly snow free Scotland.
  12. Hi Cymaz I have a Stampe kit from SLEC sitting waiting to be started can't touch it till Christmas because Santa has not officially handed it over! However I am patient honest . Thanks for the great build blog it will be really helpful. I did start another bipe build but I realise I need more experience to do it justice. The Stampe kit however looks a little less daunting with the aid of this blog. All I need to do now is wait till the 25th honest I can make it, I won't look at it not even the plans or the hardware pack. Really I won't lol Cheers Scott
  13. Thanks Jon will give it some thought glad we have this forum to think things through. Cheers Scott
  14. Hi All Firstly thanks to Bert for starting this one as I have just got a Stampe kit from Slec. I was thinking of a Saito FG 30 but now I see this could be a little small so now thinking of the FG 40. cheers Scott
  15. Hi Bert Thanks for that, not a great price difference between the 30 and 40 so will look into using the 40. cheers Scott
  16. Thanks Bert Would you reckon the FG 40 a better option? Cheers Scott
  17. Good to hear your started the build. I am very happy with the FG 14 runs really well and had no problems with it so far. I returned to the hobby last year. After some reading up I decided to go petrol from the start I stuck to the run in procedure as specified in the Saito manual. I have recently received a Stampe kit from SLEC and based on the 14 c performance I'm planning on using a Saito FG 30 in it. Back to the Telemaster it flies great and is a really good reintroduction to flying. The BD wings look good and the flaps seem to work well. Enjoy the build Cheers Scott
  18. Thanks John I'm sure you'll enjoy the build. There is another one being built now at my club after my one took to the air. Enjoy the build. Cheers Scott
  19. Hi Tony I recently glued in carbon wing tubes to my last build I used epoxy resin for this. So far no problems with it. Cheers Scott
