  1. Go on, let me win it, I might even get converted to electric and that, coming from Peter Miller would be something!!!!
  2. Yes, we used to set up the throttle geometry like that, sort of like we did for differential ailerons. I had forgotten all that. Then remember when we had to set up every model the same because we didn't even have reversing switches. You even got a reverse direction servo in the set, the label was normally red.  Yes, of course, I had also forgotten thet Spektrum doesn't have expo on throttle. Only set up one model on it. Just gome mad and bought a second Rx for it. The other thing I would like on the Spektrum is the "Engine cut" like on my FF8. That trim idea is a pain and I can seem to get mine to go back to normal idle when I move the throttle stick.
  3. I once had a Sanwa Excellence radio, about 20 years ago, it was the first with exponential. I did play with it a bit but din't really like it but that is a personal opinion. On the other hand It would have been handy on a new model when there was not enough throw on low rates and one was frantically going to high.
  4. Myron I haven't got Futaba 2.4, mine is Spektrum. My Field Force 8 has it on all channels. Why Futaba used their cheapest set to convert to 2.4 I don't know, well, yes, I can guess they wanted to compete with the Spektrum.
  5. Exponential works in this way, the first part of stick movemnet produces very small control movements but the furhter you move the stick the greater the control surface movement. Whe I use negative Exponential on the trtottle the first part ofthe movement is large but reduces as I close the throttle. This is because the average model carb has very little change until the barrel is half closed and then the last half of closing has much more effect. You would use Exponenial on other controls so that a sensitive aerobatic model would not be twitchy on gentlye control movements but you would have the full range at full stick movement. Someone once thought that it was a bit like rates without having to switch over. I can't really agree but it is  way of thinking about it.
  6. I used Fleet exclusively for some years until towards the end. I  had very little trouble with it. Mainly one fault with the Computer Rx which developed a fault which flattened the batttery. TOM: yes they did make the computer set but it had no screen and was a pain to set up, masses of buttons in the back and you had to plug a mulitmeter in if you wanted to read any values. I suspect that was what killed Fleet off.
  7. I only use exponential on the throttle with my Futaba radio, I use 30% negative which makes the throttel close fast at the start and slow down, this gives very linear throttle response. I think I set the same on my Spektrum. It is a long time since I set that up.
  8. All I want to be able to do is put a picture on from my own PC. I don't want to do it often just to illustrate a point from time to time. I don't want to have send it to another website before doing it. Well, if it gets simpler fine if not, well count me out.
  9. It doesn't matter which surface your fit the hinges to first, the important bit is not to hit them with glue until assembled. Most CA goes off in about one second.
  10. I use the Eze Hinges, i.e. tissue covered Mylar. I push a pin through the middle and then insert them into the fixed surface, then I fit the moving surface. The pin makes sure that they stay centralised. Then I hit it with thin CA. Works every time. I use them on the tails surfaces of fast .32 powered modelss and haven't had a failure yet,  CA DISSOLVES WITH ACETONE. You can buy acetone in any chemist, it is also sold as nail varnish remover but acetone is cheaper. I buy it in 500 ml bottles which is much cheaper than the tiny bottles they normally sell in the chemist. Very imflammable but otherwise pretty safe as solvents go. WE used to paddle round in it at one place I worked.
  11. I agree with Timbo. The Fujifilm website and Ebay make downloading so very easy, I am sure that this website could do it. I won't waste time messing about until it is as easy as those other two sites.
  12. Doug. Try boiling in nylon dye or at least soaking in hot water, test with a scrap canopy first. Martin:If you send Vortex Vacform a balsa canopy they will take a single draw drom it and then fill that with resin.
  13. Plaster of Paris takes ages to dry out. I believe that Vortex uses large lumps of MDF.  Why not give them a ring in the evening, Steve Davis is most helpful with advice. Phone number is : 0116 2207080 after 6 pm weekdays
