john, each cell after balance charge is 4.2V,giving 12.6 total !

john, The battery is Kokam 4000 3 S . the battery is about 3 years old,but it hasn't done many cycles. The C rating is 30 the model is a flying wing (own build) and it flew well on a OS .4- FP. The all up weight IC 6lb14oz The all up weight Electric is 6 lb 10 oz Working on 100W per pound this works out to 700w . the motor leaflet states 911w using 11.1V battery with a 13X8 Prop

More tinkering, and I am still confused! PROP 12X8 APC E Batt A W V 11.1 29 272 9.5 14.8 48 617 13 * Changed prop to 13X4 ( According to the leaflet with the motor LiPo 3s-13.8 (which I haven't got) LiPo -5s 12X6 11.1 28 264 9.4 14.8 30 441 12.6 *According to Geoff's calibrated finger the motor is less than 50 degrees! Another thing...The AMP results on the wattmeter keeps dropping?.....

Hi again, Battery fully cycled 12.4 V. With 12x8APC E 46A...444W....9.7V, Battery Changed to 14.8V same prop 49A.... 623A.....13V. Only this time motor and battery getting HOT.....The only things not changed are the motor and ESC !Should I try a smaller prop ?

Hi all, Thanks for the suggestions.The battery is on charge so I will try again tomorrow and get back to you all.Geoff says that 12x8 may be too big.......any ideas?

I have swapped an OS 40 ft with the following set up,and I am getting the following results which I don't understand Motor Turnigy D 3548-4 1100Kv 900w Prop 12x8. ESC 80 - UBEC LIpo 3s 11.1v On the wattmeter I have the following A 28 W272 V9.5. Is this OK .....Any help appreciated!

Hi all, I have a 10CG and am having trouble setting the f/s...I can get into the F/S menu easily enough which as I have only 7 channel recievers only allows for the 3 options NORM F/S When I high light F/s there is a fiqure of 85% shown below but I do not seem able to highlight this number to reduce it...When it is on F/S by the way and I switch off the tranny it goes to full bore.... any ideas please Cheers

I have changed the suspect ESC opto and everything sprang to life! Hooray! The set up is 2x220Kv motors,through 2x40Amp ESC opto turning 9x6 APCe props. I have wired the power through a y lead and the power is 4000mAh 3s 11.2 lipo. A.U.W=5lb 40z On the wattmeter.......31A.......299W I don't know how long the flights will be as the weather is so poor at the moment,but running it on the benchfor 5mins there is no discernable heating on the battery ,ESC or the motors. It feels like it will have enough umph..I would like to design a sort of thrust measuring jig for models with tractor props. Does anyone know of a good method of making one? Pushers are a doddle as you only have to put them on the scales nose down,note the weight,open up the throttle and note the difference.

Hi Chris, they are connected through a Y lead from the throttle channel. The power leads to both are through a Y connection and I intend to run it on a single battery (Lipo 3S 4000mAh) The motors are 2200kV x2 and the ESC's are 2x40A opto ( I am going to use a seperate power pack for the reciever) with the props being 9x6 One quick question..... do you think that the above set up would be OK...I can't check it up with a Watt meter until I get the ESC going! I am converting a twin i/c to electric and am having trouble using two opto type ESC's..I can only get one working ! Any ideas? please

i DON'T KNOW IF i AM ON THE RIGHT BIT OF THE FORUM FOR AN ANSWER TO MY QUESTION...WHICH IS ...MY MODEL IS SET UP ON A FUTABA FF7 2,4ghZ AND I WOULD LIKE TO TEACH MY GRANDSON TO FLY USING A BUDDY LEAD..I HAVE A SPARE TRANNY (FUTABA FF7 AN OLD 35 mHZ SET) CAN I GET HOLD OF A BUDDY LEAD WHICH WOULD WORK BETWEEN THE TWO SETS BEARING IN MINDTHE MAIN ONE I USE IS ON 2.4GIGS AND THE LEARNER WOULD BE ON 35 MEGS Many thanks

Help! I have tried to upload a couple of pictures to my album with the following results....A square with a little square in the corner with a cross in it.....What am I doing wrong.....advice appreciated. Mike Ps I hope I am in the right section of the forum here??
