Hi Robin, thanks! And yes I suppose they could be - the kit also contains foam as well as the tank and it's plumbing. If you are happy to do that and it's no trouble, I would really appreciate it ( yup, mine is the one with the chequerboard on the undersides ) It's a nostalgia build but I do remember it made a splendid sports model once the A ( or rather our club equivalent ) had been achieved 🙂

Hi folks - does anyone have a copy of the manual for the above aeroplane they can scan or sell? I have a kit without a manual here and in that I last built one 20 years ago there are a couple of things I can't remember - not least of which what the little bag containing 3 3x1 inch pieces of wood, 2 small blocks and 8 wedges is for. The rest of it I can work out myself but those things are baffling me. Cheers all 🙂

I hope it stays dangling from SOMEONE's ceiling. Or that it gets destroyed in a suspiciously "Omen" type "accident".

Forum members' new models: Let's see them.

No such thing as "just a Wot 4" I reckon. I have never seen one not flying well, even one so badly set up ( by folks that were refused entry to our club because of their, frankly psychotic flying practices ) that it was flying straight along a line but pointed along a different one. ( Masses of electronics, a poorly set up gyro and a cavalier attitude to life and limb were involved.) Great history too - thanks for that. I must get one ( a Wot 4, not a history ) one of these days. -

I have been after one of these for ages - it was the first RC model I ever built and it didn't last the first day's flying. This one is beautifully built and has all the original 70's / early 80's decals on it. It's even covered in the box colour scheme. The ony thing I am not sure about is the chrome tape trim, and there's a tiny dent in the port leading edge. Just needs RX and servos fitting and setting up. The tailplane looks like it's not on straight - it's just very lightly banded on for the pic. Lovely! -
Hi folks, the Foxjet is nearing completion, but it has occurred to me that I don't really know how much it SHOULD weigh: the instruction and plans contain no guidelines on the subject. I have heard that the FJ is a hefty lump of a thing ( and that it flies VERY well, and is a lot of fun, I am not denigrating it ) and can attest that it seems a little on the "massy" side. I am no lightweight builder myself so I am wondering what others have experienced / achieved with this model. Mine is currently 608g with battery, all gear except prop and no covering.

Firstly. I thought politics were off the menu, discussion wise, and secondly, Perhaps you should join an Incel forum. -
Well, here is where I am so far, a bit of work earlier before going out, It'll be ready for Ponte along with the Mini Robot and a Cardinal. ( despite my glacial building speed ) As far as covering goes, I am considering tissue and dope because I like the look of it and it seems...right I suppose. Anyway, after some fettling here it is so far: Thinking about colour schemes, I quite like the RAF Raspberry Ripple but might just go either RAF trainer red/grey/ white or something involving dark metallic red and silver. I will see what I feel like when I come to finish it. It's going to be electric on 3s.

Hi Piers, I already have done, and youre right I don't think anyone does this sort of thing on purpose 🙂 It just feels shoddy and not what one would expect. They certainly know there's an issue now. I have worked around the plan and made up ( and installed ) the formers anyway and the fus should be done later today - it wasn't a massive delay just not the experience I was expecting or looking forward to. The model will still fly and will be going to Ponte next month.

Cheers Pete! It would be great to meet you there 🙂 It's certainly looking optimistic, I have hinged the elevator and rudder, made the main gear, ( I want it to be a trike as per box/prototype, despite that not being the most practical ) and just need to finish off the battery hatch, hook up the surfaces to the pushrods and finish the radio install. I may do a bit more trim as well, because I'd like it to be turned out well 🙂

Oh this is a brand new kit, not old stock. The delivery was fast and I have no complaints about that side of things - There was a facility on the Pegasus website to be informed when they had stock, this worked and I ordered the kit to recieve it a coupe of days later. Great. Of course what's in the box...not so much, sadly.

Look, I know a modeller is supposed to be able to do maths but I don't expect to have to resize a plan or in this case it's measurements, like it's an article from RM back in 1975. I'd quite like to have a full size plan so I can transfer the former positions with some extended lines, in 30 seconds, rather than have to mess about with a ruler and a calculator. And if the instructions say I have some laser cut formers thus avoiding the need to get out the calculator again, then I would like to have the things. Which I don't. Yes none of the work is overly onerous, but it simply shouldn't be necessary. It's SHODDY. Very disappointing, especially for a kit made this year. I have contacted Pegasus for comment.
