  1. Jon, please dont kill off the 70 put the price up to make a profit. The 70 and 80 should be priced the same, the 70 cant cost you any less to make. On a different note, would a Laser 180 be overpowered in a CF Extra Wot like the one Ron has on the go at the moment... **LINK**
  2. I would ring them Ron, I used the number on their contact page. I phoned about 10am, it was with me next day. This is what the labeling looks like at the moment, when Jon has settled on the blend I suspect MT will redo the artwork.(just guessing) the label show 5% (nothing to do with the oil) (Laser 70 in WOT4 to add interest, kit built like your Extra WoT) **LINK** Edited By Gary Spicer 1 on 24/06/2020 18:35:40
  3. Its not on the web site, I dont think it has an official name yet, I gave MT a call and Phil sent me an email with payment details, my order arrived next day. Thanks Jon for taking the time to develop this new fuel.
  4. I not sure what the minimum order is direct from Phil, 4 gallons was very good price inc shipping.. **LINK**
  5. (Dont Know how I doube posted..sorry) Yes and thanks to Phil for getting it out so quick! Jon, do you think it will be Ok to use on my 2002 180 the one you serviced last year with purple carb? Dont want to go back to the old mix, as it it so much cleaner.
  6. Just got through my first 4 pints of the new Low oil Laser fuel from Model Technics, very pleased with it used on Laser 70s and 180 much cleaner, less smokey slighly higher peak RPM (I think!). Thanks to Phil at Model Techinics ...an email then phone call and 4 gallons arrived next day at good price
  7. Thanks, I used that on my CF WOT 4 build as well.
  8. Lots done today, good photos again. Did you use gorilla glue on the bandage as well as gluing the wings together with it?
  9. Thanks, makes sense now I see the photo.
  10. Very good progress Ron, did you cut the veneer with a scalpel and steel rule? Cant find your soldering iron tip for cutting foam, do you have a photo of it. Thanks
  11. Hi Ron, Do you think a Laser 180 would suit the Xtra Wot....I just happen to have 20 year old one, Jon serviced it for my last year. its just sitting in a box
  12. Good build photos Ron, I like the masking tape idea!
  13. You did well to get it for that Ron. Leeds Model Shop have them for £299.99 and direct from Chris they are the same price, Leeds have them in stock just landed today!
  14. Hi Ron, I will follow it, I was thinking of building one myself, another Laser for power? Gary
  15. I certainly did! I was very pleased how long it ran for on 16oz
  16. Thanks Jon, I ran a tank trough it yesterday (plane pinned down in the garden) playing at around half throttle got just over 30 minutes!
  17. Thanks Frank and Jon, sounds like I am in the ball park, its a birch wood ply prop cant remember the brand. AUW of the Nieuport 19lbs with 16oz tank. 92" span.
  18. Does 6900 rpm max revs sound about right for a 20x6 on a Laser 180? Model is DB Nieuport 24 (only a cheap tacho) Thanks
  19. +1 for the J’EN 6.5:1 Geared Starter with cradle, turns my Laser 180 with a domed nut or just the prop nut just flip the cone around. I also have the Sullivan Dynatron which does work at all on the 180, just no enough low end torque.
  20. Thanks Jon for the info. Just curious....is there any advantage in having 1.5 pitch over say a fine 1.25 metric pitch on the 180? My old imperial laser 180 has a much finer thread pitch on the crank. Thanks
  21. Hi Jon Please can you confirm the thread/pitch for the prop nuts on my 2020 laser 70 and Laser 180 as I want to get a couple of domed nuts for them from Just Engines. I know most probably metric but just want to be sure! Thanks
