  1. Splendid news Andy about the 'maiden' flight. As soon as my little workshop cools down I'll get building my S60. perhaps for an Autumn flight. Cheers SW
  2. Good to see that at least you are attempting a bala model Adam and with a trainer characteristic, not resorting to a foamie thing! Good Luck with the build I suggest that you find a local club with a helpful beginners section? SW
  3. My model is also from a BB kit, might put spruce spars in rather than balsa. I fly from a near coastal site always fairly breezy if not windy!
  4. Definitely not wishing to fly the S60 in anything but the original design manner!
  5. Thanks for your figures,I have checked out 4Max's ideas, just trying to use up the spare motor on my workshop shelf if at all practicable. Chris
  6. Hi My reason for the aileron version is that I've already got a Junior 60 plus a scratch built KK Falcon (a monster) in my Vintage hanger. The original S60 version was considered, but I just fancied a slightly modified 'oldie' to add to the fleet. Memories of yesteryear for an octogenerian to pole about with on a calm day perhaps? Cheers for now Chris
  7. Hi, the projected weight of the model is approx 4.25lbs (63" span) . Prop: wooden 11x6, Lipo, probably 3S 60C 2200Mah. I don't want to overpower the model as it was originally designed as a fairly placid trainer (1950's). I have a JUNIOR 60 that operates well on a similar set up but is/probably will be lighter than the Super 60. Cheers SW
  8. Brilliant Andy, I look forward to reading the 'maiden' result. Thanks May the weather be with you. Cheers for now Chris (alias SW)
  9. I'm just about to start a build of this vintage model and intend to convert it to electric power. I have a spare Surpass 3542 1250KV motor and a 40A ESC. Any comments or opinions about the suitability of this set up would be welcome please? SW
  10. Thanks Andy, I have tried this once but the 'problem' wasn't resolved. i'll give it another go though, nothing ventured nothing gained me thinks? Cheers SW
  11. I have installed this ESC into a 2.9M Introduction F5J. The TX is a Futaba T6K. The usual basic set up instructions, respecting the throttle reverse position for Futaba have been followed. When attempting to advance the throttle slowly, the initial revs increase commences only in 3 very definite increments before being able to advance to the 'full' throttle position! I'm puzzled about this situation and wonder if there is some way of 'resetting' ESC and recommencing the set up? I have tried using a Sunrise 2 programme card but without effecting any change to the throttle issue! After fitting another brand of ESC the motor operates normally. Has anyone any suggestions or ideas about this apparent problem please? SW
  12. That's interesting John, thanks for the information. SW
