  1. Hi Martian, I have the folders on the forum but the photos I want are on my phone. today I loaded an app from Microsoft to link the phone and pc it gets to the final part and states there are just two questions before we complete your account then the dots rotate and nothing happens. At least I managed some flying today.
  2. I have 2 albums one loaded from the pc and one from the phone. My phone has the pictures I want to upload but it is not talking to the pc not even by Bluetooth and both are switched on . I had no problems with the old lap top But this one will not tether.
  3. Hi Ronos, the wind eased a bit today so I took my Cambrian large scale ME 109 for its first flight. When I arrived at the flying site the wind had picked up again I decided to try any way. It has a 5055/06 motor with a 16x10 prop and a 5s 5000 lipo it is 22 ozs. lighter than the Hurricane with the battery in, as it turned out there was too much power even in the strong wind I had two flights on the 5s batteries I had two 6s with me but did not use them as it meant changing the prop and it was getting colder in the wind I was getting about 1200 w on this set up . At the moment I will wait till the weather warms up before testing the other options with the watt meter. I have electric retracts in and used the supplied undercarriage fixed legs from the Hurricane and even with two good landings they bent back like they were soft wire I will have to use 5mm for the next flight ,I think they would collapse under the Hurricane. Keep us informed how it performs when the weather improves.
  4. Hi Ronos and all, being new to the forum I have just noticed this thread. I too have a VQ HURRICANE 60 and reading their advert I thought it was also designed for electric. The mount and screws come with it for both ic and electric but no easy way of replacing the battery. after looking at how to do it I decided to go i.c. I used a RCV 91. which is heavier than my Saito 125 but still had to put 500grms. of lead up front. The first flight in a steady breeze was ok nothing spectacular and very little reserve power the next time I went flying it was very calm and it only just managed to get off the ground. once up it flew better in the calmer conditions .The nose is about 30mm longer than scale so imagine how much lead that would need if it were the right length, I am still thinking of going electric but did not fancy cutting all the bulkhead away or taking the wing off to change the battery. I have an Overlander Thumper motor which I think is the same as the elecrospeed boost motor the numbers are the same they look the same the label's are the only difference. looking at your last post has given me food for thought that should fly it no problem. Scrolling down the advert for the Hurricane there is a video of one flying very well with an ASP 61 FS. no details of weight . Eric r.
  5. Posted by Martian on 27/02/2020 21:17:24: Hi Eric I take it you got the plan cut parts from the from same place i.s Sarik if so parts should match to plan Hi Martian yes the parts match the plan but the plan does not match the parts . I should have spent more time reading Danny's build I was well on with the fuselage when I noticed F6 was not right both in width and when positioned the line from the cockpit to the front was not straight. Not my day the weather improved up in the north so I ventured up to the flying field for a first flight of my new build Me 109e. It's the Cambrian 65" span version. The retracts worked fine during setting up at home but when I got to the field pre flight check both went up only one come down, back home after stripping it out the circuit board was the culprit new one on order. I can't remember having much trouble building the Bryant Bristol Bulldog, just that it was a lot of work having said that it was about 1985. How do I load a photo on to this site? computers are not my strong point. Eric.

  10. Hi Martian, I did get everything from Sarik , the old plan was stretched a bit with age it was almost falling apart. However the basic side pieces were 1/16" undersize so I had to glue a strip along the top to bring it up to size. the other fault I have found is the tapered pieces at the rear are cut from 1/4" sheet instead of 3/16"I have opened up the slots in F11 to accommodate them. The family have now gone home so it is full steam ahead now. Just one point have you used the brass etched parts from Ernie as the Vee pieces for the cabane bracing don't match the drawing. Eric.
  11. I have been using them for the last year without any problems. I have a 4 in my Acrowot 46 two stroke powered and a 6 in a VQ Hurricane 91 fs powered I also have them in electric powered foam models and no problems with either type. Eric r.
  12. Hi Martian and all, just could not wait till Monday. I have the original Dennis Bryant plan and during the time I was waiting for the new one I felt tempted to start on the fus. rear framework but as the plan was faded I resisted, just as well as there is a difference in depth between the old and the new . I had intended to build on the old plan and keep the new one for reference but when I laid the laser cut side panel on the old plan it was smaller in depth, the length is ok. the cut parts are slightly under size on the new plan but not enough to cause a problem. I hope this is only a small glitch I did think the 3/16"sides would be slotted for the formers but it is easy enough to cut them before glueing them together.
  13. At last after a 3 week wait the plan and parts arrived from Sarik .I have almost everything I need to start and enough bad weather to keep me away from the flying field, First set back, my Grandson and his family are coming for the weekend so no modelling till Sunday night. If the weather stays as it is I will catch up and have it flying before next winter. Eric r.
  14. Some time back after receiving numerous accident calls I said to the lady on the phone I have had an accident. She put me in contact with the manager and after rambling on about stress and pain he kept asking where it had occurred.I said down a quiet street suddenly an elephant run out in front of me and when I hit it, it was so annoyed it gave me whiplash with its trunk. He slammed the phone down.. The HMRC call I had lately I gave a lot of false information and asked how I could pay them as I do not give my bank details over the phone I was told to go to the local supermarket and they would give me a code to buy 10-£10 Amazon vouchers. I am still waiting for the bailiff's.
  15. It's good to know there are still a lot of people balsa and foam bashing and it would be good to know how many Furies are in production or recently completed. Danny I will stick to the plan apart from the front end, I will go electric on this one. I bought a bare airframe of a Flair SE5 at Cosford last year, I had one when they first came out flew it for years but a faulty servo piled it in on a concrete runway. The fuselage was soaked through with fuel after 7years of use so it was scrapped I electrified the present one and it fly's like a Pitts at full throttle flying it at the scale speed gives 11 mins. flight .Graham are you going electric with the Mosquito? Eric r.
  16. Thank you Martian,I have contacted Ernie hopefully they are still available, it was about 25 years ago I made the Bryant Bulldog and my close up vision was much better then. Making the fittings is very time consuming and I can think of a lot of things I would rather be doing but the weather is not good for flying at the moment. looking forward to taking part on the forum I will post updates when I get started. At the moment I am finishing a 65" span ME 109 E from a Cambrian kit.
  17. Hi Graham and all. this is my first posting as a new comer to the forum. I have been looking at the builds and I would like to congratulate the builders on some fine models, The Fury looks good in any colour but. I do like the camouflage scheme, mine I think will be silver. have sent for the fury part set from Sarik but I would like to know if the etched parts are still available. or if anyone has a set to spare. I tried to order some from the etcher's.but they said I would have to get permission of the designer who I believe lives in France. Eric r.
