  1. Posted by Matt Carlton on 17/12/2020 09:12:58: I'm lucky that we're in a bit of a hotspot, so we get a fairly eclectic mix of F-15s from Lakenheath, F-35s and Typhoons from Marham, V-22s, C-130s and KC-135s from Mildenhall, well as some interesting GA stuff using the small airfield nearby. Interestingly had an F-16 doing circuits overhead not long ago. Possibly USAF but more likely Belgian I suppose. Hi Matt, Until March, I worked in Mildenhall and the flight line was visible from our office. The law of s0d dictated that as soon as an important phone call or meeting started, the F15s would put in an appearance and all audio communication ended! Another interesting thing; we had a projector suspended from the boardroom ceiling. When the Ospreys flew nearby, it would cause the image to blur. For ages I thought it was me... Anyhow, our local Harvard has just given me a flypast near Sudbury! Graham
  2. That looks fabulous Peter. Can't wait to see it fly! Graham
  3. I'm already thinking of an Ohmen triplane! How about an elliptical wing bipe or trip based on Peggy sue or Harmony? That would look great!
  4. I have to say, Peter's Pterodactyl was the funniest thing I've seen since my granny fell through the asbestos roof. No wonder dinosaurs became extinct!
  5. Hi Cliff, Great job, and glad it's all recoverable. Many others will have better knowledge of this than me, but as I understand it free flight models require considerable longitudinal dihedral and a rearward c of g to 'take care of themselves' in flight. So they usually carry positive mainplane incidence relative to the tail. I don't know the details of your build, but if it is a FF conversion, an built largely to the original, this may well be contributing. The plan C of G will almost certainly be too rearward, and the effective negative tailplane incidence will also be making life challenging! Now, that all sounded plausible, didn't it? I always like to use big words because it makes me sound more photosynthesis... Graham

  7. Looks great Nigel. Drop Peter Miller a line regarding the magazine submission; I am sure he will be able to advise. I think it would be a very worthy design and I'm up for it! Graham
