  1. Good news. Yes the short kit from Sarik was delivered today. Cheers Steve
  2. Well that turned out alright. Happy with that Cheers Steve
  3. No flying today so progress is being made on this build Underside of the elevator covered to match the tail plane. Now the hard part, making the tops match up Cheers Steve
  4. Thanks Geoff, Yes it is true no one else will notice the minor differences, only I will know. I am learning a lot and this is my first attempt at free hand curves so I am happy with the results of my efforts. I always like to look where I could make improvements and work out how for the next time. This makes building interesting and a continuing challenge which is good for my brain, so they say. Cheers Steve
  5. Up early this morning and at the field by 08:00 because there was no rain, no wind and it was sunny. I am pleased to report that all went well. Back for lunch and a bit of work on the Ballerina, Tail plane covered. I am beginning to think that three colours is not a good idea due to the time it takes. I struggled with cutting the blue to shape then for the Jacinth I made a paper template as others do (thanks Bob) so much easier. Tomorrow the elevator and fin/rudder. Cheers Steve
  6. Fuselage covering finished. and tail feathers started. Cheers Steve
  7. Enthusiasm has returned this morning so.. Marked up the second side. Transferred the measurements and cut out then test fitted as usual. It fits, first time, which is always a confidence booster. Ok I made a mistake on the first side, can anyone spot the difference? After a second coffee it will be time to finish the fuselage covering Then onto the tail feathers. Cheers Steve
  8. Apparently pubs will be open but limited to six people at one table. Does that mean there is not limit for drunken people to gather as long as there are no more than six at each table? Talking about confusion I thought the limit was six. When did thirty happen? There again during the week there are less than six at my clubs anyway.
  9. Ron, Yes the usual confusion as the interpretation depends on the press report you read. PM will issue a statement today clarifying the new rules.
  10. Let's not over react as here is a quote from the press. 'The number of people who can legally gather in one house is to be cut from 30 people to six, under new rules for England aimed at stopping a second coronavirus wave.' Only for gatherings at home then? Cheers Steve
  11. Will do on both counts Peter. I am trying to drum up some enthusiasm to do the other side. Anxiety is one of my problems, much reduced thanks to a divorce, as I make the decisions and do whatever I like. Cheers Steve
  12. Oops I see what you mean. Not good is it? That's novices for you I guess. I hope no one is following my example as I would hate to lead anyone astray. Cheers Steve
  13. Two hours later. and it was not difficult at all. Cheers Steve
  14. Thanks Keith but I am not sure where the raw edge is. Cheers Steve
  15. After a lot of thinking there has been a design change regarding the shape of the Jacinth in front of the wing. I have previously experienced difficulties with covering not being at right angles to an edge as it is ironed on, it shrinks and puckers up. So I have changed the shape. It is all marked up including the two places where the fuselage and wing Jacinth meet up. All I have to do now is transfer the measurement onto the covering film, cut it out and iron it on. Hmm sounds easy. There is only one way to find out! Cheers Steve
