  3. Not an electric guru but 14v for a3 cell lipo sounds alot. Mine usually charge to about 4.2 per cell that would give 12.6v . I think the high voltage is the reason for puffiness. Is there a way to set the high end cut out on the charger??
  4. I am with bb on this one. English at level 2 ( or equivilant GCSE,CSE, O level)is not an entry requirement to the forum. People have varying degrees of knowledge in all manner of areas. As this is an open forum younger forumites will not have undergone 11 years of compulsory education, or our international friends who use english as a second language. Can they not use the site?? RC flying in all formats , that's the reason we all are here.
  5. Do check the cg. I am sure they had confusion over wing tip and wing root. From what you are saying it sounds as though you as measuring from tip. Will check but cg is just around the spar. Would hate to hear of a miss fortune due to the cg error. Do get a club mate to double check to confirm my theory.
  6. What ever you fly you should be willing to loose.i lost my much loved funtana. Hey ho move on. Laugh it off don't throw ya dummy in the corner. Whats the fleet like.... Is it worth waiting for the classifieds although if that's what he does to the planes and peripherals then mdybr you could provide a name so we could avoid buying dodgy gear
  7. John the tail on mine was excessively beaten . This is not a weak point as such. The uc is though and you would do well to glass the interior around the uc to ensure good contact and glue .
  8. Mx2 from many suppliers I got mine from lms via century. But hk also have that same model lots of bids on YouTube .

    Dilema

After the demise of my much flown Funtana I have an OS 120FS surpass, and servos etc for donor model. Now the problem i got is do i sell the parts and buy a model off BMFA/Ebay complete with these already in or do i just lookm for an airframe?
  10. MMMh It depends on how damaged your wing is??? The right wing ( as viewed from the rear ) is the one with damage to the leading edge and ribs the left one(as viewed from the rear) has a few punctures and damage to the tip . Fuse is a no go as i have already stripped it out and the engine mount was U/S and the tail was N/A.
  11. I will have a look although i know one of the leading edges to one wing was smashed ruptering the ribs as well. Fingers crossed it was the left one that took the damage.
  12. Mine has died. After replacing the elevator and stabiliser . Checked all out pinned, and taped . Trimming in flight and settled into smooth circuits . Nothing aerobatic just smooth left and rights then, boom tail foutail gone. Now llooking for a frame to fit radio and 120 four stroke. I did enjoy the plane and it was not a complete right off but I think it's about knowing I got away lightly with the tired airframe and wood, covering etc will be more thana replacement
  13. Well all is going well now. A few practice take offs which were not so good with a major torque roll into the ground resulting in UHu repair now invisible and has been strengthened with gorilla duct tape to protect the base. Flying is good and it is almost mandatory to get a helper to throw it to catch the roll on the aileron stick. At half stick however at full tilt it climbs up. Do i adjust the thrust on the back plate or trim it for flight on the trim tabs?? Second I have noticed the Ultra comes in fatser than the standard but also has a habit of sliding and flipping. How do i help reduce this occurance. Longer arrival run to bleed speed? The video below although not me show the landing flip.
  14. Yeah I did the same with mine. 3cell lipo for power , but soon burnt the6v motors. Upgraded motors and esc ( two of each motor and esc) cost about £40 from the cod as was. Still flies well and is fastest twin on the patch. Has been redesigned due to magnetic earth !!!!! Still flies well.
  15. Posted by Spice Cat on 02/07/2012 21:41:59: Taken in Sri Lanka and demonstrates the dangers of mixing last nights curry with hot coals. As for the Shard, I have been lucky enough to watch it being built and was there today when (according to the BBC) a window cleaner was in dire peril when the basket he was in swung out of control on the top of the tower. Load of tripe as the cleaners had rigged out the basket okay to begin but due to high winds it had become twisted. A worker then got into the basket to stabilise it and bring it back to it's cradle. Job well done. With tears in my eyes, I had to nominate one of my team to go up and check all was well. He got to the 82nd floor and said he could see the Dartford crossing. I don't speak to him now..... I tried multiple photos but they came out sid by side. What am I doing wrong???? Edited By Spice Cat on 02/07/2012 21:44:57 I was at that show a few weeks ago(Tsunami warning week!!!). Srilanka is an awesome place espcially if you like tea. Banished are the RC stuff though...sulk. Got a great photo of the bridge with tuk tuks crossing.
  16. Try eBay kudos is the retailer . I found they have many names as a company and all have different prices but are dispatched from the same depot???? Kudos 40 sheets for£50 plus a little pp. for 3mm white . That's £16 a box cheaper .
  17. Panic over. There was a gentle breeze today at the patch and I though Just once lets give it a go. trimmed right and up power so I could feel it push ( About half) New prop and a good shove. up and away . what a great feeling. But then to trim out all the up and right as it was too much. Great half circuit before orientation became difficult with the grey sky argggghhh. long search soon had her back on the patch and chucked back up after a quick check over and reduced the trims. Much better. Still climbs on throttle so need to either mix throttle and elevator or will try putting in bit of down thrust on the motor. Great stuff . The fleet is now nearly all operational!!!
  18. For outdoor I can recommend an epp model . I built a yak from a plan I built from rc groups. They have a section for scratch built foamies where you can get plans for all sorts of stuff. I have built and flown a mario go kart, couple of flying men, 2 different depron shockies all from rc groups. The hardest part is joining the a4 sheets of paper to make the plan. The saving you make over a shop bought kit is amazing but it is your time that comes into the equation, about £3 for 3mm depron and £7 for epp 9mm.
  19. Just got the fun jet ultra. It has the multiplex power setup on 3cekl . My first launch I was conscious that full throttle will roll it do launched at approx 1/3 to 1/2 .no luck it dived and bust the prop even with some up elevator . Any tips on launching this baby as it is gonna be s beaut once flying.
  20. My zagi is very critical of cg tail heavy will make them more sensitive . I would try a little more nose weight . Just my thoughts . I am no guru though
  21. As they say that size needs a smaller plane . These will be buffed around in the wind . A shockie would be a simple build and are easier to repair than the micro range . They fly slow and I fly a couple indoor a standard gym or in the field on calm nights. Rcme plan for the stunt monkey is a cracker 3mm depron £3 a sheet and if it all goes wrong after a few crashes strip the parts and it's only £3 and a bit of time. Uhu por glue is the sticky stuff that is bed.
  22. The bigger cub has a clear screen and you can see there is nothing inside. All the bigger planes are flying with flaps down to reduce speed. Not sure about the airliners though ???
  23. No I miss placed it when cleaning out . And not easy to see at the patch . I will try a car repair shop . Throw away society ken I thought you were an Eco warrior!!!
  24. Depends on how you fly. I have just retired my stunt monkey . Magnetic walls when trying out new moves!!!
