  1. I might experiment with the springs, good idea The pivot is silver soldered now and I’m pleased. The arms are straight and parallel and they fit nicely together with the light heat sink. JB weld will keep it altogether, or m2 bolts …not decided yet
  2. I don’t think I’ve a good 9g servo. The next job is to make the two new brass arms using the ply as a template. I’ve ordered some Paxolin which will be the final piece of the puzzle
  3. More work done with the lighting. I won’t bore you all with the story of who I reached this stage. It was a case of several failed versions and a lot of head scratching. First job was to get it all roughed out on card. And finally..... Here it is at work, the light will come on.....promise
  4. Mary has a little lamb she tied it to a pylon 10,000 volts went in its fleece and turned its wool to nylon
  5. The wing is off the board and trial fitting of the nacelles. Also I raided the piggy bank ( again! And show signs of severe malnutrition) and bought a Unilight controller for the navigation, landing and rear marker lights. I have so say...they are very bright indeed 😎 😎
  6. I had one of THESE many years ago and built a hatch on the underside of the fuselage after completion.Hardly noticeable and very useful.
  7. Balsa dowl would be easier to fit but unless supported in a couple of places will rattle like a spoon in a bucket. Even worse for a snake. Are you able to open up the bottom of the fuselage to do the necessary works ?
  8. Today, Brian was doing the second wing tube. The ply fillets that Cliff H made are absolutely perfect, well done that man!
  9. “ When I said I wanted to become a comedian , people laughed at me...They’re not laughing now.” ( Bob Monkhouse)
  10. Fuel tube it is then. Thanks for all the views/ideas
  11. I’ve got several SC 46 2t engines. All have, to some degree, loose HS needle threads. I assume from poor tolerances on manufacturing and age. I've added an extra O ring of fuel tube on the needle shaft. What good would adding PTFE tape around the threads do? Does the tape deteriorate in the presence of glow fuel? Thanks!
  12. LE riblets and strip ready to go in. Cliff H has kindly offered to make the plates that will support the front wing tube.
  13. I’m going to put all the Lancaster engines in my Dual Ace twin. That way I can run up the engines in the air and see how they all perform in an airframe before they go in, better that way I think. Don’t know why I didn’t think of this before.....!
  14. Thanks for the input. Brian is following plan, ( with exception of the tubes). So I don’t think he will sheet the entire wing, I’ll ask to double check. 👌
  15. It is going to be sheeted with 1/8 thick balsa. I’m looking if anyone could laser cut 24 off 50mmx50mm with a 36mm hole in the centre, 1/16 lite ply. This will support the large wing tube.
