  1. So I’ve been told, the effect of a square trailing edge is to increase the efficiency of the moveable surface. It “elongates “ the air , increasing the effective surface……if that makes any sense 🤔
  2. Two old boys having a jam , drummer on vocals and Animal on drums....
  3. NEWS FLASH....CORNWALL NOW DRIVES ON THE RIGHT. Please be aware of this when coming over the Tamar Bridge.....
  4. I think I’ve found out why it needed so much aileron trimming. There’s wash in on port upper and starboard lower wings. Another little job. The elevator trimming will be neutralised..
  5. Some pictures after the landing. Needs a boot full of left trim, 3/4 of what I had! And a lot of down trim. I’ll sort this out manually. However once trimming was done she was so docile and smooth. 55cc is way too much so flying around on 1/4-1/3 throttle was all that was needed. The book CG was spot on. The only thing left is to rework the flying wires and get better bolts for the UC.
  6. Thanks for the good wishes.
  7. Rudder and tail wheel ( yes...tail wheel. Some tiggies did have a wheel) all in and working. Batteries all in and good. Saturday is looking the day for the maiden
  8. Just done the cg. The book number is 263mm back from leading edge on top wing. Mine is just slightly nose down on this. I assume the book figure is correct!
  9. It’s on a WW11 airfield. There’s more nuisance with fly tipping and illegal trespass….we’re the good guys!
  10. One of the clubs I attend have a 84dB limit, one has 82dB and the third no limit. All but 2 of my petrols pass the 84dB but over the 82dB. I’ll report back 🦻
  11. Many hours checking through everything. I’ve changed the wing retention from self-tapping screws and plastic tabs to m5 bolts and aluminum strip. I’m more satisfied with this. Just the bottom wings to complete and then it’s on to check the cg. Started the engine up again last Sunday and it ran very well. I’ve added some thick reinforced silicone tube to the exhaust outlets, this has cut down the sharp noise tone quite a bit, we’ll see if it’s enough to pass the field noise limits....
  12. A lot of old boys having a good time. I don’t think it’s been posted before, such a great song 🥰 .
  13. Great thread! looking for a 1/3 scale Tigermoth pilot.
  14. A deal was done a few weeks ago between myself and Mark. I’ve ended up with a 105” Tigermoth ARTF by Maxford USA. I’m modifying a few bits, not many, as the model was in good condition. Just a few things I might be able to improve. The airframe is fitted with an AGM 55cc 2t petrol. The timing has been adjusted and will handstart quite readily. I have been busy added centre strut supports which have really added considerable stiffness to the struts. New Mick Reeves instrument panels have been added and the front one modified to take the switches and ignition light. The next job is to add the reciever, tidy up my servo wires and then I will check over the wings....
  15. It’s got the looks only a mother could love
