  1. Kamco kadet. Search online for kamco plans, good trainer, good first build.
  2. Thanks Martin. I have read somewhere that fully charged a Rx pack can attain 7.2v would such a diode be adequate or would a higher value be required. Also I know nothing about charging life cells and would be grateful for advice. Thanks for your help. FK
  3. Thanks for the above chaps. What concerns me is using lifepo4 as the RX pack, the voltage that can be attained, can this be tolerated by the RX/servos. I have built a kamco kadet to teach my grandson, using a futaba dual rejection RX on 35meg and 6ea tx. Thanks again chaps.
  4. I am thinking of converting my futaba radio to lifepo4 batteries please could anyone advise if this is OK. Thanks tiffy
  5. Please can anyone advise what to use for lubricating rubber motors. I used to be involved with this years ago, but I have forgotten. Thanks in anticipation FK.
  6. I have always flown with downtrim ie. the model sinks if I leave go of the stick is this incorrect.  I await your verdicts                                                                 Cheers  FK
  7. Cascamite resin wood glue is a good alternative to epoxy or polyester resin for wing joining bandage.                                      Cheers FK
  8.  I thought someone would have mentioned the so called "Uniflow fuel system" which uses a clunk on the pressure line (or vent line) and maintains a constant head of fuel equal to the bottom of the tank,  irrespective of level. I think its called the Marriot Flask system. Perhaps someone could explain how it works and whether it is any advantage.                                                                                                                              Cheers FK.
  9.   Thanks for the advice chaps. I dont use tubing I just twist the cable and solder it , going by what you say, it should be ok.                                                                       Cheers  FK.
  10. Everone seems to use crimped brass tubing on closed loop. I twist and solder mine is this ok.   I would be grateful for opinions.                                                                                Regards FK.
  11. One advantage with Sig Coverall compared to nylon, is that you heat shrink it, then fill the weave with non shrinking dope. This is much gentler than shrinking dope, much less chance of warps. I think tex is the most convenient covering and as already said, when given a coat of clear varnish is easy to keep clean.                                                                                                 FK
  12. Thanks for that Timbo I will do as you advise.                                                                                  FK.
  13. Another advantage with building your own is that you can take your time and build in stages not having to fork out all at once.As long as you have got something to fly meanwhile.                                 Cheers FK.
