  1. Hi, Finally decided to build one off Tonys mini jets but undecided which one would be the easiest to build and be successful regarding flying. Iam a seasoned builder and competent pilot but would like a easy build to start with. I really like the Hawk or the Hunter so would either of these be suitable. Thank you.
  2. Hi, Decided to cut the hinges and reinstall the proper way but thank you for you advice. Glen
  3. Hi, Made a bit of a boobie, Not concentrating i accidently glued the ailerons on the wrong way meaning that the vee is facing upwards in stead of down. Only done one but was wondering if it would make a difference regarding the flight envelope , Thank you
  4. Wished i had seen that picture before hand, ha well never mind. I envy people that can finish a model like that, i love building from scratch and can make a nice job of it but i hate finishing off regarding covering the model and insignia. I make a reasonable job of covering but if it is not perfect it really bugs me. Must try and listen to the wife more because she says what difference does it make as long has it flies, they don't understand ha,ha. Best regards Glen
  5. Hi Barry, Nice build and coming along nicely. I have more or less finished the covering on mine and more or less ready to tackle the canopy , think i will go along with the plastic route as i have made the three frames ready to install.
  6. Hi, Got to the point of attaching the wings to the fuz with a captive nut and bolt from underneath. The article says to provide a hole under the fus which lets air out but allows you with a long allen key to attach the wing but my thinking is how do you stop the bolt from dropping into the fus. Thank you for any imfo.
  7. Hi everybody, the build is coming along fine, just acquired some 1/2 inch x 4 prices have shot up but can not do much regarding that but next project probably will be a short kit from sarik.
  8. Hi, Iam at the point where i need to order some covering, It will just two colours so iam wondering if one roll of each colour be enough to cover the model, Thank you.
  9. Peter, I am struggling to obtain 1/32 ply for the doublers , can you recommend an alternative .
  10. looks like my Chaos will be coming to a halt, can not get balsa for love nor money. Wished i had gone for the Sarik parts now.
  11. Thanks guys, I have gone and ordered one from 4-Max. Got three models to build now , should see me through the winter.
  12. Hi, Thank you for that, With the batt at this position will you have to take the top wing off to access the batt.
  13. Hi, Anybody built the larger of the Panics and converted to electric. Says it can be powered by electric but i can not see in the manual where you could insert a 5s lipo. Thank you for any advice given.
  14. Gotcha, Just have to cut some more ribs now, on with the build. Thank you.
  15. Hi, I have started one wing but may have made a blunder. The bottom spar is laid flat on the board and its says from R6 taper the spar from a 1/4 to 1/8 at R11. Is this spar tapered on the underneath before laying down on the plan or tapered after the wing is built and removed from the plan. Hope this makes sense. Thank you Glen
  16. Hi, Just cutting the ribs at the moment but noticed that the spars are 1/4 x 1/4 balsa, I presume this is hard balsa or is it spruce. Thank you best regards Glen
  17. Got my balsa so on with the build , might be asking a few more questions later down the line. Thank you. Edited By bees on 03/10/2020 22:29:04
  18. okay, Thank you, Think it might be my next project with winter fast approaching.
  19. Hi, A question for Peter if i may. You say that the Rans Chaos will do wild aerobatics on high rates, don't want a 3D model but will the Chaos do knife edge, stall turns and maybe prop hang. Thank you for your advise. Best regards Glen
  20. Good regarding maiden let us know how you get on,
  21. Having a dodgy esc i finally replaced it and took the Phase 5-e to the field for the first time in months. Last outing it flew well but ballooned up with crow but after closer inspection i realised that i had added up elevator instead of down regarding crow. I had three flights today to get it trimmed out and it now flys great and slows down with crow giving me perfect landings. Really nice model and glides for ever even with no thermals about and wished i had flown it in warmer weather but you never know we might still get some nice weather yet. Its a keeper.
  22. Thank you, Was considering the Gnat, Think i will order the cnc from Tony as well.
  23. Hi, Been looking to build one one the Tony Nuhuis jets ever since the first plan came out but never got round to it but now being retired i have more time on my hands. Firstly though i have been reading about the flying of these jets and it seems that if you don't get it right regarding weight, thrust, etc then there is a problem getting it hand launched. Is there any particular jet that flys better than any other. Thank for for any advice.
  24. Finally maidened the Playboy Senior this afternoon. Did not have high expectations because i must have had half a church roof to get the reccomened CG.How ever to my amazement it took of rather sluggish but gained height then i cut the motor to see how it was at gliding. It would glide but would lose height very quickly and seeing how people have said that it would stay up forever i was rather disappointed to say the least.Anyway i landed and took some lead off and tried again and although it was better it was not brilliant so landed again. This time i took all the lead off that was left and thought bugger it and went for it with out checking the CG. This time with less weight take off was a lot faster and after gaining some height cut the motor and low and behold she flew great with hardly any drop in height Yahoo this is what i was hoping for. Did not have time for another flight so came home a happy chap.
