  1. By the B36 do you mean the suggested mega motor. If not it would be useful if you posted a link since the kv would be the most important thing to people who know about EDF stuff (I don't )   @import url(/CuteEditor_Files/public_forums.css);@import url(http://www.modelflying.co.uk/CuteEditor_Files/Style/SyntaxHighlighter.css);@import url(/CuteEditor_Files/public_forums.css);
  2. TBH I do not really see the point of telemetry for the things I fly; I am of the oppinion that you should know when you are about to fall out the sky (can't anyone else "feel" it?) and you don't need telemetry to tell you when you lipo is about to run out of juice. I use one of these things with a very bright LED that flashes at a pre-set voltage. I also think that in the applications it would be most useful (ie. high value models or high performance models - dead stick in a trainer isn't much of a problem) it is also most dangerous - taking your eyes off the model for long enough to take in the information takes around a second, and a fast moving model can do alot in that time. The idea of a fuel senser is good, but if you can do that, why can't you just put a flashing light on the outside of a model?   On the plus side, telemetry is pretty cool, but I personally see it as an unneeded cost. @import url(http://www.modelflying.co.uk/CuteEditor_Files/Style/SyntaxHighlighter.css);@import url(/CuteEditor_Files/public_forums.css);
  3. Its as good as when I built two left sides, so I disassembled one carefully and carefully built it the same again. Doh! @import url(http://www.modelflying.co.uk/CuteEditor_Files/Style/SyntaxHighlighter.css);@import url(/CuteEditor_Files/public_forums.css);
  4. The sockets seem fine when used for buddy leads, but mine doesn't like the sim lead - so I use my JP planet system instead for phoenix.   Phil have you checked all the pins are ok - my first lead had a pushed-in pin. @import url(http://www.modelflying.co.uk/CuteEditor_Files/Style/SyntaxHighlighter.css);@import url(/CuteEditor_Files/public_forums.css);
  5. I thought that you had to have a genuine adaptor for it to work - otherwise everyone would buy one of those and then just buy the DVD (which you can get of the phoenix website for £9.95). @import url(http://www.modelflying.co.uk/CuteEditor_Files/Style/SyntaxHighlighter.css);@import url(/CuteEditor_Files/public_forums.css);
  6. I think that they are probably just as good, but FHSS seems to be on the lower end offerings - although the new 6 channel tx has better specs than mine . The other thing is this "s-bus" thing - do they expect everyone to buy a load of fancy servos or decoders?@import url(http://www.modelflying.co.uk/CuteEditor_Files/Style/SyntaxHighlighter.css);@import url(/CuteEditor_Files/public_forums.css);
  7. Vapex batteries are great - I got mine from modelpower, but that seems to direct you do vapextech now... If they are the same people I would recommend them.@import url(http://www.modelflying.co.uk/CuteEditor_Files/Style/SyntaxHighlighter.css);@import url(/CuteEditor_Files/public_forums.css);
  8. Not sure why it stopped working - my internet still worked but it wouldn't let me rejoin the session. Good session thought. @import url(http://www.modelflying.co.uk/CuteEditor_Files/Style/SyntaxHighlighter.css);@import url(/CuteEditor_Files/public_forums.css);
  9. I'll join around 10 o'clock if there are any sessions going...@import url(http://www.modelflying.co.uk/CuteEditor_Files/Style/SyntaxHighlighter.css);@import url(/CuteEditor_Files/public_forums.css);
  10. I might be able to join you....@import url(http://www.modelflying.co.uk/CuteEditor_Files/Style/SyntaxHighlighter.css);@import url(/CuteEditor_Files/public_forums.css);
  11. Once phoenix has updated I'll be with you.@import url(http://www.modelflying.co.uk/CuteEditor_Files/Style/SyntaxHighlighter.css);@import url(/CuteEditor_Files/public_forums.css);
  12. Posted by r6dan on 20/03/2011 17:39:19: is yours a standard Zaggi with a motor conversion?because I fancy making a removable power unit for mine. @import url(http://www.modelflying.co.uk/CuteEditor_Files/Style/SyntaxHighlighter.css);@import url(/CuteEditor_Files/public_forums.css); No, its a Raven. @import url(http://www.modelflying.co.uk/CuteEditor_Files/Style/SyntaxHighlighter.css);@import url(/CuteEditor_Files/public_forums.css);
  13. @import url(/CuteEditor_Files/public_forums.css); Mine has a finger chopper on the back so I don't fancy doing that, lest my neck strap knock the throttle forward... Launching it into the wind usually means into the trees behind where I fly, so I usually end up doing it cross wind, or downwind if there the wind isn't too fast.   Nice weight lifting pose Dan.
  14. Or in my case not... How do you launch your flying wing? I say this because I use the "frisbee" method for my Raven, chucking it and then going full power as fast as i can. This doesn't work that well though - today I had a nice flight didn't crash. Going  for the second flight. Flew into the ground on launch. Try again, ditto with damage (not major though)...   Any suggestions as to how to do it?   Birdy  @import url(http://www.modelflying.co.uk/CuteEditor_Files/Style/SyntaxHighlighter.css);@import url(/CuteEditor_Files/public_forums.css);@import url(http://www.modelflying.co.uk/CuteEditor_Files/Style/SyntaxHighlighter.css);@import url(/CuteEditor_Files/public_forums.css);Edited By birdy on 20/03/2011 17:03:25
  15. I've no idea, but I tend to find that models feel different to fly in the real world: I am comfortable flying jet turbines on Phoenix,but in real life I begin to feel uncomfortable with my flying wing at times.... And I'll wager that 90% of people don't turn on any wind on phoenix either - so aeros - especially 3d - is so much easier than it would be in real life. @import url(http://www.modelflying.co.uk/CuteEditor_Files/Style/SyntaxHighlighter.css);@import url(/CuteEditor_Files/public_forums.css);
  16. @import url(/CuteEditor_Files/public_forums.css); First flight of the year! Took so long because I like to have very nice weather for the first flight, because I never trust myself, and because the one thing you didn't check is the one thing that doesn't work when you want it too. And that's a problem because sod's law dictates that you can't fly when there is prefect weather.   @import url(http://www.modelflying.co.uk/CuteEditor_Files/Style/SyntaxHighlighter.css);@import url(/CuteEditor_Files/public_forums.css);
  17. Oh dear... For me, the main result of all this Japan stuff is having to explain to every second person how nuclear is in fact safe, and how what happened in Japan will not happen here because we don't live in the middle of a seizmicaly (that is spelt wrong, sorry. )active area, and how the "lethal radiation" from the power plants will not cause all our children to have 3 arms and cancer.   And now the EU has decided to see how our potential nuclear plants may be affected by earthquakes and tsunamis... in the UK. How else could they spend all that money we give them though.   I must be getting old and sceptical. @import url(/CuteEditor_Files/public_forums.css);@import url(http://www.modelflying.co.uk/CuteEditor_Files/Style/SyntaxHighlighter.css);@import url(/CuteEditor_Files/public_forums.css);
  18. I'll be going... Its so close I could walk there if I could be bothered. Couldn't walk back though - I'd be carrying too much. @import url(http://www.modelflying.co.uk/CuteEditor_Files/Style/SyntaxHighlighter.css);@import url(/CuteEditor_Files/public_forums.css);
  19. Sorry about me leaving my internet died, Good fun though. . Can't say I am any good at formation stuff - really you need voice comms too, and how you typed and flew (is that grammatically correct?) I will never know.@import url(http://www.modelflying.co.uk/CuteEditor_Files/Style/SyntaxHighlighter.css);@import url(/CuteEditor_Files/public_forums.css);
  20. I'll joint you if you do, as long as its not too late...@import url(http://www.modelflying.co.uk/CuteEditor_Files/Style/SyntaxHighlighter.css);@import url(/CuteEditor_Files/public_forums.css);
  21. Good fun thanks David. @import url(http://www.modelflying.co.uk/CuteEditor_Files/Style/SyntaxHighlighter.css);@import url(/CuteEditor_Files/public_forums.css);
  22. Sorry for not being on as I said... My internet decided to stop working.@import url(http://www.modelflying.co.uk/CuteEditor_Files/Style/SyntaxHighlighter.css);@import url(/CuteEditor_Files/public_forums.css);
  23. I'll be on around 8 o'clock this evening if anyone wants to join me.Usual name, password is forum.   @import url(http://www.modelflying.co.uk/CuteEditor_Files/Style/SyntaxHighlighter.css);@import url(/CuteEditor_Files/public_forums.css);
  24. Lots of people suggest carbon paper, but my prefered method is putting the plan on top of the wood, securing it, then going along the lines making pricks through the plan with a pin. You then are left with a lovely line of dots to connect together.   Hope this helps,   birdy @import url(http://www.modelflying.co.uk/CuteEditor_Files/Style/SyntaxHighlighter.css);@import url(/CuteEditor_Files/public_forums.css);
  25. Same not working for me either...   @import url(http://www.modelflying.co.uk/CuteEditor_Files/Style/SyntaxHighlighter.css);@import url(/CuteEditor_Files/public_forums.css);
