  1. I honestly don't know Caveman - it may need packing round the shroud. Although there is no stock available for the 50 mm, they will take advance orders and expect to ship on the 26th
  2. You could try this one - 650 gm thrust on 3S (850 gm 0n 4S), but while it's a 50 mm fan, the whole shebang is 60 mm (including the shroud)
  3. Jose, those wheels are WW1 - the Fury used metal dome covers (hub caps if you will) and not canvas over spokes You could try these (with a 3d moulded cover) Edited By Daithi O Buitigh on 14/10/2018 19:45:08
  4. The other day SWMBO asked me to check that she'd entered the details correctly for a number of small items she wanted, all ordered on the amazon website. 'No problem', thought I so I followed through the ordering procedure until I got to the final amount. 26 quids worth of goods was going to cost £416 in delivery!!!!!! Needless to say I stopped at that point. Edited By Daithi O Buitigh on 14/10/2018 16:16:38
  5. Posted by Chris Walby on 11/10/2018 13:33:14: NiCad's for planes...it will never take off If drag < thrust and lift > gravity - anything will fly :P
  6. I'm going to hazard a guess here and say it's a 'McCoy'. I don't think they did a .30 though - there was a .29 and a .35 and they were glo-plug (not spark). There is a limnited number of spares available here
  7. You could try Banggood for the fan units - they have a selection from 30mm to 65mm
  8. I was wandering round my local second hand book shop and spotted 'On Silver Wings' (covering RAF biplanes from the Snipe to the Gladiator) and found this shot - Fury Mk IIs from 25 Squadron One thing of interest for the absolute purist - the fin was offset by three degrees to conteract torque on all Furies. It says in the book that the fins of the squadron and flight commanders were black - but there is a difference in grey scale in the photo. It also looks like those aircraft have the upper surface of the tailplane in the same colour. There was also this photo, again 25 Sqdn - no wheel spats but bungee cords Edited By Daithi O Buitigh on 20/09/2018 22:17:29
  9. I tried that link and got this instead. They 'found something similar' :D Bust of a WW2 RAF pilot (but you can brew your own here)
  10. I came across this site by accident - some very strange aircraft (some I knew about like the Stipa Caproni and the SNECMA Coleoptere but things like the Rutan Boomerang, the RFS-1 flying submarine or the pZL M15 jet biplane were new to me)
  11. Martian - there's always the poor man's substitute - cut up an empty coke can (it's very thin aluminium)
  12. 15 seconds on Google produced this BEB :D
  13. Paul. That listing has ended and ebay have replaced it with another, different model. ASnd the same model from the same guy is available here at two quid cheaper :D
  14. One of the last ‘Atagirls’ of the second world war, the female pilots who delivered planes to RAF airfields, including Spitfires Obituary here
  15. Two stories from Air Traffic Control at RAF Aldergrove (first is true, second is apocryphal) Chipmunk from Queen's University squadron coming in for landing: You're above the glide path You're still above the glide path Oh don't worry - you'll just land a bit further along the runway Helicopter on finals Whiskey 13, Tower, confirm three greens Whiskey 13, Tower, I say again: confirm three greens Tower, Whiskey 13, Look out your window. This is a Wessex. My wheels are welded on
  16. Ernie, get a copy of Revo Uninstaller (the free version should work fine) and run it in moderate mode
  17. What might help (but it's a bit hit and miss) is to right click on the install file and go to properties. Click on the compatability tab and tell it to run in XP mode. You may have to do this on the .exe file after (and if) it installs
  18. Some nice shots of a restored P51B with the Malcolm hood here
  19. I know it was the High Speed version but I posted the photo because it was the only one I had where the Dzus fasteners could be seen.
  20. I had a look at the photos in Profile Publications and there's no hinge on the cowl. Both top and bottom seem to be fastened with Dzus fasteners (two rows of five on each side) Edited By Daithi O Buitigh on 11/06/2018 14:00:39
