  1. LOL!! a 125 eh? Hmmm.... That'll be interesting! BTW, John, i didn't actually say a larger diameter.   Sheldon
  2. I dont have experience on this particular plane, but plenty of experience with pitch! On a plane like this i think a standard Graupner 12X7 or 6 should do the job well. The 12X8 will give a slower acceleration, it will increase the tourque reaction and the model will only want to fly fast. The only way to really get around the tourque reaction though is with EDF or a jet - i got a go on a Boomerang Elan on Sunday! I know i said on another thread, but i just like to 'milk' it   Build looking good, and as for the smoke system, look on youtube, there is a video of it dont on this exact plane. And as for the oil for the smoke system, half baby oil and half diesel is meant to work.   Sheldon
  3. Hi there, i keep being critical, but you'll find this plane best on a finer pitch prop.   But yes, fly it first This plane is looking gooooooood. Two words: Smoke System!!!!!   Sheldon
  4. I've just built another depron delta. Depron is brilliant stuff!   I would have thought last sunday would have been good for this - no wind where we were. I had a good day Sunday, Allan was there with his Turbine Boomerang Elan... and he let me have a go!   Sheldon
  5. Hell yeah! Als hobbies do that 14cc petrol. You'll get 30 mins out of a tank, and the fuel is 4 times cheaper!
  6. Just went to page 2...   Good to hear about the flying!
  7. NoNoNoNo! I mean it like Jim in Vicar of Dibley, as very nice build, but you can use an AR6100! They are actually full range. I'm using it in my own-design .40 size glow Wot-If! You can go vertical... out of sight. Guess what! Waggle the stick left, the plane goes left! It is full range, they just say it's not to make more money out of an AR6200. They have the 500 as a 5 channel full range rx, but to get full range 6 channel, going by the book you have to get the 6200, but you dont.   If you see what i mean   That is, unless there is lots of carbon about, in which case you use the 6250.   SheldonEdited By sheldon holy on 23/01/2010 13:35:01
  8. Yeah, the 3M spray mount stuff should fo it well. UHU-POR is what i first thought but it's a bit thick for a sticker. When using spray mount, be careful as it picks up dirty finger prints from a mile!
  9. Good job!   On your rx, you MUST push about a half inch of fuel tubing over each ariel. The plastic tube that it comes out of fits inside the tube very nicely, of oy get what i mean. I am saying this as it is very easy to break off the brittle airels. I use velcro to stick an rx in my models, but you have to use UHU-POR to stick the other side of the velcro to the wood on the model, even the self-adhesive stuff dosent stuck to wood.   Hope this helps!   Sheldon
  10. Brilliant! Yes, a 'test' plane, now THAT'S new"
  11. Wow... Maiden Maiden Maiden!   Are you putting roundels etc... on? Looks great though!
  12. Wow.... my worst fears have been taken, and thrown out the window! Verrryyy nice job, i want to see the maiden!
  13. I've just looked EVERYWHERE for it! Where to buy it? I guess Vmar has probably haulted production. I am in two minds about converting it to a taildragger. What battery did you use in it...? 2200 3s? Although i am building a model like this (i've started a thread - alasdair sutherland pipin) that needs finishing. I need some money and motivation. Then it is finished.   Sheldon
  14. Hmm.... 40 quid eh? I have a 300w motor spare....   I'm very tempted.
  15. Wow... Fidley, definately! Simple, I guess. Elegant, unless it's perfect you'll find yourself with a wing warping mechanism! I think it'll be fine, especially by looking at the brilliant building I agree with Terry - the balance point seems awfully far forward... will we have a video of the maiden?   Sheldon
  16. What an amazing project! Brilliant workmanship there. But, are you sure those Walkera cells are 500 mah? I have a couple and they are 400mah. Where did you get them from? Mine came wih a walker 4G3. Just wondering, you must know what your on about though! Maybe it woule be an idea to get a smaller esc? Are you just having one servo for all four ailerons? Or are you using connecting pushrods to connect driven bottom ailerons? I am asking as it would be amazingly fidly to have another one of those flishing-line setups on the top wing with the wires coming down the cabane struts! I guess you must have mentioned this and i didn't notice.   Sheldon
  17. Looks nice! You will find it a real beauty to fly, compared to the  due to it being quite a large model.   Couple tips: Make sure the screws on the engine mount are tight. And use a Soldering iron to cut away covering on fin etc... To mark where to remove covering, push (lets say fin) into the slot, and then pull out a bit, and mark where it exits the fuselage with a cd pen. This will work but also mean you have no bear balsa showing.   I must be even more lucky for Christmas then! I got a 1/4 scale Stampe and a 50 size heli!   Sheldon

  19. I've done this a few times. A chap at the club crashes his plane, strips it of gear and gives it to me! I fix it like this, and fly it! When people crash nice models at the club, they say it's going in the bin, or far beyond their building capabilities. I then persuade them in to letting me fix it and they have it in flying order by next weekend! This, though, is brilliant!   Good job Flanker!   Sheldon
  20. Tim,   What a fantastic aeromodeller you are! This plane is very well built, and really looks the part. If you're in the south (i'm just near brighton), then it's light breeze from the East on Sunday. This plane is really amazing, and really brings a whole new meaning to the word 'aerodynamic'! LOL!! I'm sure you get good visibility, but really, what were the designers thinking! It's like a bus! You take things that none of us modellers have never heard about, and build them, beautifully. I too am jelous!   Sheldon
  21. Bird-E, Monk.   This must be my third or fourth post of names, and i am wondering if they will read all of the posts on here...   Sheldon
  22. Hi, i'm not surprised it flies so well! The shape and placement of everything is 'text book' perfect, and a beautifuly built too!   I want!   Sheldon
