Ed Darter
I'm planning on doing the Dorschell one soon, but going to do it in Depron with no U/C. Hoping this will shed quite a bit of the 5kg his weighs (well weighed - he put it in recently apparently). Interesting thread this one, looking forward to seeing it fly ! adam
Looks fantastic Graham. Yep mines flown but 2 bumpy landings due to engine cuts inflight. Engine is in another model now untill I'm happy with it. I will post some flight vids in the new year.

adam
Been a few years since I posted this!! It had one flight, engine died and had a hard landing, no damage but was also tail heavy as I made the mistake of not balancing with fuel in (Since the fuel tanks were are the rear). Already had 400g lead in the nose!! I've moved over to electric now and want to convert this to electric. Current prop is a 12x6 which I don't want to go any bigger as it skims the grass on rollout. Model is 2.6kg (no lead/engine etc). As a test I put 200g lead in where the engine is and 2x 4s 2200 batts upfront (450g) and balance was slightly nose heavy so looking good. Model + motor +batts = 3.3kg/7.3lbs which 100watts per pound I need 700 - 800watts So thinking of this setup, any recommendations 3548/05 900KV TORNADO THUMPER V3, on a 4s 11x8 prop with a 60amp esc Ideally I want 700/800 watts, 12 inch prop, 4s, 60amp esc (batteries I currently have) Thanks Adam
