John Privett Posted February 25, 2010 Share Posted February 25, 2010 Basically it's the way the Fédération Aéronautique Internationale (FAI) group different flying disciplines. The initial F means it's aeromodelling, F1 is free flight F2 is control lineF3 is r/cF4 is scaleF5 is electric.etc. Within F3 the final letter is the specific discipline within r/c, eg. F3A is r/c aerobatics. It's all defined somewhere on the FAI website.
