Doug Ireland
Gents, has anyone used Cirrus Servos before? I bought 5 13kg units for my CAP 232G but have not used them in anger yet. The Hanger 9 manual suggested using the big JR Digital servos but they are nearly 70 quid a pop! I'm in a bit of a quandry wondering if I've made a false ecconomy. David Ashby - Moderator
I believe I've used their Micro units in a park fly model - no probs encountered.David.
Grant Darnley
Be interesting to see if they're up to the job. My extra(same manu, same size) is wearing hi-tec 5645s with a 5955 for the rudder, but only 1 flight thus far so can't really comment
Doug Ireland
David, thanks for speaking to your office people. I got an email from them yesterday with my magazine subscription number.

Andy Green
I bought 2 for the elevator / rudder controls on an F3B glider (Star) and they have worked faultlessly. I would have no problem with using them again.Aren't they futaba by a different name? (Distributed by Ripmax).Andy
Bob Cotsford
i've got two 5g micros in a 'Little Bit' 1/2a wing, one went loopy a couple of weeks ago and my LMS just replaced it no questions asked. Their experience is that they get a fair number returned, usually dead from the box. Once they've seen a little use they tend to prove reliable - I hope! Doug Ireland
I got the beast in the air yesterday and the Cirrus servos seem to work ok. I had a serious brown trouser moment on finals during the first flight though, that damn great prop makes too good an airbrake! Spread the landing gear a bit. A bit of an ambitious project for over twenty years away from the sport methinks! The second flight was better but I think I had a mental block... couldn't seem to make my right finger flip the rate switch to high!
Grant Darnley
Glad it went well. Is it an alloy LG with the cap, the extra has the weakest moulded carbon unit in the world
Doug Ireland
"Hand polished Aluminium" as it says in the book of words that came with the model. Maybe it would fit on your Extra?
