Any more talk of SCRAP and i will send the the flying squad round to charge you with misrepresentation LOL.
The penalties are quite severe unless you repent the model could be confiscated and given to me. .
Any way Frisco sounds good could hardly call it "little cable car" i suppose you would come back with "scrap little cable car" .
Mind you "half way to the stars" sounds ok .

  • 2 weeks later...
well bigger motor fitted and a new prop.

hmmmmmmmmmmmm worse than last time, so smaller prop fitted and we now have lots of speed across the field, but still no lift.
so i packed up the main wing leading edge and had another go.
still no joy, well the wheels just left the ground then one caught in a rabbit scrape and it spun round and stopped.

just dont seem to be getting any lift from the wing.
maybe some fixed flaps might help.

or a bonfire.

yeah i thought about fitting some fixed flaps on the trailing edge to increase the lift a bit.

the whole point of the build was to have a cheap plane i could practice take off and landings with.

my £10 a month budget just dose not allow me to buy rtf kits that i know will fly.
so i will keep plodding on with this one while i start another scratch build out of the scraps i have left over.

anyways onwards and upwards (i hope )

yet another failed evening.

i must have done something fundamentally wrong some where as it just will not fly.

so its time to retire it to the wall and build something else.

something simple from a plan and see if i can get that to fly.

Tony .
I can only say that a test glide ,from a hand launch should tell you every thing ,you have checked C/G and rigging ,it can only be underpowered, the only other thing is brushed motors and 35 MHZ can be problematic .
Just to check back what is the wing area and AUW ?

hi

not sure if it's a posibility or not. just an idea

is it posible that you've built negative incidence into the outer wing pannels that's countering the lift from the centre section ?

I don't know anything about polyhedral wings it's just a thought

kev
