David Ashby - Moderator
I bought a new 25W soldering iron in Robert Dyas yesterday (rapidly becoming my favourite shop) for £8.99. I thought this was a pretty good price to pay? David. Please don't tell me they're £4.99 everywhere else ....
Andy Green
Bad newsI bought a set for £4.99 from Aldi.It contains 2 (Yes two) irons 80W and 25W, solder, wick, stand all in a plastic box. The best bit is (no pun intended) is the hammer head bit I got from Puffin fits a treat in the 80W.Andy

001
This week I bought a 30 watt soldering iron for £2.99, includes stand, spare bit and about 2m of solder! In Lidl. They had a digital vernier gauge for £7.99, but it had sold out, unsurprisingly.

001
The soldering iron I bought in Aldi for £2.99 has just expired, I should have known better! But - I bought a 50 watt soldering station in Maplins for £9.99, but this recently went back to its old price of £29.99. It is probably the best small tip iron I have ever owned. Highly recommended --- if you can get one at £9.99!
