Using Programming cards

I have a Tunigy AE-30 ESC, I wish to set the parameters of the ESC and believe I have the correct programming card a Turnigy BESC Programming card.

The trouble is than when plugged into the programmer, and the ESC connected to the LIPO, none of the diodes lights up, however much button pushing.

I also have a Blue series programming card as I have a few Blue Series ESC's. I have tried this, again no sign it has had an effect.

The question is do you normally get some indication? How do I know that anything has changed?

I have thoroughly read the instructions sheet and applied the procedure to the both ESC and Card.

The card is probably broken, as the diodes do not light up, etc.

I have tried via the BEC mode and non BEC by use of a two conductor cable.

Perhaps I need to bu a new CARD and check that the card I have is supposed to work with my AE, ESC.

Oh!!! If I had only known, I would have had real feedback

I have ordered another on the basis it must have been broken on arrival. Although I had my doubts, as very little comes broken in the world today, however cheap.

I seem to have the correct model card, from checking the blurb.

Anyway I look forward to hearing from your experiences.

It is useful to know that the diodes should light up on connecting the lipo to the ESC.

I note you have written that the settings were made earlier, is that without any power to the card?

I have another card on order, and await its delivery.

My existing card does not light up at all, what ever i do, although i will try again, in case i am misinterpreting the instructions and sequence for setting.

Your ESC has a BEC, this does mean that you need to connect the ESC with the servo wire to the programmer card to the pins that are located near the word BEC. Then you power your ESC like you would do normally. Now the LED's should light up.

I did settings earlier following the instructions for my ESC (Hobbyking 25-30A) using the transmitter.

Does this help?

That is what I have done.

My blue programming card works with the the Blue ESC's.

It is just the AE card does nothing but sits there.

I will have to wait until they send my new card I ordered, it is not worth the bother of trying to get HK to replace the apparently faulty card.

The description of the esc says that it should work with the BESC programming card, so I guess your card was a dud.

You can wait for the new programmer, but you can also try to program it through your transmitter. I always find that a big hassle (hence I bought the card), but it is doable. If you are not sure if you have the correct settings, do it again. You (virtually) can't destroy the ESC.

In the reviews I saw someone saying that it (your ESC) has the same programming instructions as the Pentium from Hobbywing. See if this link helps...

Oh well, I was going to give you a link to the Hobbywing instructions, but the site does not work at the moment. I will try again later, or try if you can find it yourself. This is where the site normally can be found: http://www.hobbywing.com
