stuey
My ASP 61 has been a bit leaky around the rocker cover joint, and probably through the bolt holes. I have some Hermetite Instant Gasket which I could use to seal the join and some around the heads of the bolts. It is a silicone sealant, is it suitable for such a use and if not what is good (preferably available in Halfords etc) Thanks
ken anderson.
hello again stuey......use some clear silicone.....or if you want a gasket - use some brown paper......and silicone..... ken anderson ne..1 .. 4ST dept.
Myron Beaumont
Why not re-surface the rocker cover on a sheet of wet & dry 600 grade maybe on a perfectly flat surface ? Don't overdo it otherwise the rockers might touch the cover ! I doubt that the actual top of the head has distorted where the rocker cover fits . I agree with Ken about the brown paper gasket if the above fails to stop leaks . In my day we used "Gasket Goo" but havn't seen it for years
