Terence Lynock
BEWARE buying Futaba S3003 servo's off Ebay especially from HK or China, there is an influx of cheap copies, very good to look at and they do look genuine right down to the label but inside they are junk gears and poor quality electronics and assembly. Save youe money and possibly your plane and dont buy them.

Biggles' Elder Brother - Moderator
This has been going on for a while. Someone did post a caompartive picture recently showing that although they are decent copies (in the sense that they look like the real thing) there are indeed some tell-tale differences which allow you to spot the fakes. Worryingly its not just HK imports there have been a few reports of folks buying these in the LMS! BEB

Terence Lynock
I know it has been reported in the past but just lately Ebay has seen an upsurge of far eastern sellers offering these copies, I didnt use them in an airframe but only because I make sure everything is cosher before I do and anything out of HK or China is suspect until proven usable. I put one on a soak test and after five minutes it sounded like an old steam engine, another servo being sold is a SG5010 which doesnt need a soak test before sounding like a coffee grinder because it does it from the first switch-on. Steve Hargreaves - Moderator
I have a handful of the SG5010s & yes they are noisy but seem to work OK... Rob at Giantcod sells them here & they seem to get good reviews......
