Lee Smalley
Yeah mate but you have to plan these things early so I don't get bloomin socks again, my only concern on the modle is how she will cope with slope flyings and more importantly .... Landings
Slopetrashuk
Cheap Chinese Pilatus? Really? Am I going to have to wake you up for every turn?
Lee Smalley
Just a nudge every now and then would be nice, love the shape though not sure it would survive long in slope life and it would be a nice distraction from my typhoon especially in light winds when some idiot decides to throw a plane off a cliff ! Devon Flyer
I've just sold my old Wildthing and with a little extra saved I think I might invest in a Pilatus B4.Does anyone know if the wings are built up or foam cored?I believe the fuz is built up.I've got a couple of Seagull models that I've electrified, an AT6 and a Spacewalker 2, both are well built and fly very well - hope the Pilatus is up to the same standard.Best price I've found is £159.99 - anyone seen one cheaper? David Ashby - Moderator
Being Seagull, it'll be built-up DF. Seagull don't do foam. Their 2000 glider is all balsa and ply. Tim Mackey
The seagulls on the Orme do - several have tried "to do" my EPP Eagle
Ron Harrison
Same old Same old! Just because it has a motor, it does not have to be flown like a 'Normal' Aircraft, after all it is a Glider! Appreciate that you have to do the 'Fly-bys' but how about a pure Gliding sequence for a change? R
David Ashby - Moderator
Not quite so video and photogenic Ron. I've been thermalling the 2000 in the last week though Edited By David Ashby - RCME Administrator on 11/10/2011 10:51:
Lee Smalley
the 2000 does not look like a traditional glider though a bit of a warmliner look about her, i would have liked to see her at ful chat on a fast pass and then give her some rice and see if she can handle it
David Ashby - Moderator
I'll let you know

Ian Jones
I'm pretty sure I need one of those 2000's
Stephen Grigg
One of the arguments brought up by our difficult neighbour was that gliders dont count they are not model aircraft, and tried to include us in the flying of microlites ,straw clutching methinks
Devon Flyer
Well, my Pilatus is finished and ready to go.Been waiting for the right conditions for a couple of weeks. Looks like it might get maidened this weekend, with a bit of luck.I'm using a 3s 2200mAh lipo and 5A SBEC to power the 7 servos. All up weight is around the 5 1/2 lb mark - needing 11oz in the nose to balance it.
Tim Mackey
Looks nice does that DF - how easy /secure are the wings to attach /remove?Also, ( Im sure you have checked) ... be sure the UBEC is happy on 3s - some standalone regs are designed for 2s input .
Devon Flyer
The SBEC is actually rated at 6 - 8 amps and 2s - 8s. It's one of these HERE. Wing attachment is dead simple. Slide them along the 2 carbon tube wing joiners and bolt into place with a nylon wing bolt, then clip the cover into place; once done, they ain't goin' nowhere!
