David Ashby - Moderator
Very interesting, you don't envy those who flew this in combat.
Kevin Fairgrieve
Dawn Patrol 1/3rd scale. Belongs to Pat Cuss I believe. Pictures taken at Osbournby 26-09-2011 Even has the simulated rotary engine. A joy to watch. The rest of the pictures from the day can be found here Osbournby 25-09-2011Edited By Kevin Fairgrieve on 17/11/2011 11:48:
Martin Harris - Moderator
...and an auto pilot!!! All that beautiful detail let down by the lack of a pilot in the flying shots...
Kevin Fairgrieve
There is a very good reason for that!! The engine a Zenoah petrol engine is mid mounted, using an extension to drive the prop. This was the maiden flight and cooling was a concern. The cooling air must come in via the cockpit, and a full pilot would obstruct the airflow. A problem that has since been resolved.
