fly boy3
Hi all, I see quite a few of these receivers down on the fly ing field now. Mostly in foamies and park fliers. Does anyone use these in larger models. ? Cheers
Seamus O'Leprosy
I had one of the 8ch receivers in a 40 size leccie and all didnt go well, twice! Now don't know if it was the receiver, being on 35 or being a leccie but once bitten, twice shy, trice not bloody likely. Bob Cotsford
I did used to use them in anything up to .60 power, but what always made me nervous and needed constant checking was the flimsy aerial on them. I always added a blob of glue to brace them to the board. The ones I had incorporated a failsafe which I considered a big bonus to balance against the aerial. Steve W-O
At less than £15 each (sometimes £10) they were a bargain. It was all I used when I flew 35MHz, and I never had a moments problem, and that was on electric. The range is good, Corona is an established name, I don't think they are any more likely to fail than any other piece of electronic gear. And they don't have the plug in crystal to give a potential problem.
FlyinBrian
I found the Corona synth rx to sause poor servo resolution, the xtal version seemed ok though.
Steve Hargreaves - Moderator
Only used the crystal controlled ones but they have been fine.....even in prop driven leccy models. They don't like high revving (20k +) electrics though....
