Kelly
HiI am looking for a 4-stoke engine for my P-40, compact enough not to have lots of bits sticking out of the cowl. The RCV90-SP seems a good option, any thoughts or advice much appreciated.CheersKelvin
Tim Mackey
A clubmate has 4 in a scratch built Lanc - he likes 'em ( has around 8 in all I think )
Marcol
If you need a 4 stroke engine for a scale model, the only word you need to know....................... LASER. A flying colleague of mine has the Hanger 9 P 51 Mustang powered by a Laser 100 and it's a great combination. I know the Laser is more expensive but everything fits within the cowl and there isn't a better engine anywhere.
Kelly
Hi Timbo, thanks for the info.Hi Marcol,The Laser is a good choice. a bit on the expensive side for semi-scale.Thanks to both of you .Kelvin.
Dave Atherton
Hi I am thinking of trying the Hanger 9 J 25 Bomber How do you rate the quality of the Hanger 9 Kits. Any comments will be of help. Thanks Spanish Dave
David Ashby - Moderator
Dave Assume you mean the B25? Yes it looks lovely. I would think they're just arriving in the UK now. Too early to say how they fly but Hangar 9 have yet to release a bad model IMHO.

Kelly
Hi DaveHave you seen this link a video of the H9 B-25 and pdf manual.http://www.hangar-9.com/Products/Default.aspx?ProdId=HAN4450I have yet to start building the Warhawk, keep having a look at my build blog in the forum.RegardsKelvin
Tim Mackey
Very possibly I had posted that my Camel had a part which was slightly bodged with silver paint to cover up some small marks in covering, and had binding ailerons on the lower wing panel. The aileron problem was posted here by another Camel owner, and he had his exchanged. HH are promising to send a carrier to collect the parts, and exchange mine too. It is not a cheap kit, so really these issues should not still be happening, but otherwise, for an ARTF, it is nicely made. THe instruction booklet is also pretty good by ARTF standards. David Ashby - Moderator
Will you be weathering it?
Tim Mackey
Probably a light dulling off with the scotchbrite pad, and then we will see.... I dont really go in for super detailed scale touches, it all gets a bit too pretentious for me ( thats probably just my excuse for not having the patience or skill to do it ) I do tend to be a slow and fastidiuous builder, even with so called ARTFs, there's ALWAYS something I end up doing that was not in the manual, normally because I have had to adapt something to take my chosen powertrain etc. However by the time I have then built it with all the mods, I run out of enthusiasm for the final finishing touches....being eager to then actually fly it, which is why I buy models in the first place I am still contempalting fitting the benini style sound effects unit....but in all honesty, probably wont
Dave Atherton
Hi KelvinThanks for that info, I have checked the site the kit and manual look good quality. I will keep in touch to see how your Warhawk gets on. I will have to see how I can get the big box over here in Spain, it might be cheaper to build it in the UK and fly it over. Thanks again Dave. Tim Mackey
Hangar 9 kits are pretty good....but I still wouldnt expect one to be able to fly from GB to Spain
