Garbo
It appears that there is a possibility of less expensive turbines coming out. I know there are some really expensive ARTF available but does anyone know of any kits?
simon burch
I think Mick Reeves still does his turbine kits, plus the YT Pantera looks a really nice piece of kit. Personally, my first turbine will be the new Vampire by Tony N. By the time I've got it finished, I should have saved enough for the turbine. Cheers, Simon
Lee Smalley
you can if you hunt around still pick up the baby boomerang and the nano is still available i think, if you wish to build your own Fighter Aces do the valkyeri sport model for 400 notes **LINK**
Concorde Speedbird
Tony Nijhuis Vampire- If you have the latest RCME then it is in there. Sounds pretty good. I'm not a Turbine flyer, so that is all I can suggest. Hope that helps! CS Edited By ConcordeSpeedbird on 04/07/2012 16:34:
Alan Cantwell
depends what you want, ARTF, or built up kit, the YT Pantera MK2 has learned from the MK1, and is beutifull, and, whats more, its selling out quick, and they are not due until the end of the year!!! Frank Skilbeck
Motors and Rotors are advertising the Boomerang Nano for £375, suits a Wren 44 or equivalent, but then again less expensive is all relative................

Garbo
Mick still does the Super Reaper not too bad at 250 and looks rugged enough for my landings. The inside has more plastic bottles than my recycling centre
Ton van Munsteren
Garbo, Maybe the RBCkits Thundertail is something you like checkout the site there is also a video. Thundertail Or maybe the following model my de design for Turbine, but only made it to an prototype to fly but never made it to a kit. It was designed in 2006 but who knows I could make it in to a RCME free plan some day. span 157cm length 134cm weight 3,2 kg empty (without fuel) Ton
Mark Powell 2
Build anything you like and can afford. I've got one, though don't fly it often as it is not allowed at Beaulieu. There is nothing difficult building a turbine model, or flying it, no more so than a glow or electric model. They land a bit fast. You don't need a 'turbine trainer', if you are competent flyer you can fly most things. I looked at Nijuis' Vampire. Excellent value for the whole thing. But a bit big and heavy, engines of the size required are expensive too. You might not think so at a quick look, but in effect you have joined the LMA if you build it Ton, your effort looks much nicer than the Boomerang. Can we have a plan? Ton van Munsteren
Mark, When there is more interest I could have another look at the model and make it in to a plan. The flying was good needs some flaps for the landing and a little bigger tail fin. No retracts in the protomodel good for some some less smooth flying fields. Garbo
Ton I have seen that Thundertail on the RBC site and put it on my option list, good price too. There are reports that the HK turbine will be on sale in 5 or 6 weeks at a promised budget price. Lets see what specs it is.
