Chris Bott - Moderator
Solarfilm has only been around 40+ years Tony, it will never catch on.
Tony Bennett
well it won't catch on in this house anyway. fiddly and stressfull stuff to apply.
Tony Bennett
I can confirm that i HATE solar film. 2 hours to do a fuselage side. i have covered a whole plane in tissue and polyc in the same length of time.

Concorde Speedbird
Looks nice! I like Solarfilm, worked very nicely on my Funfly, but it depends what you are used to really. CS

Richard Harris
Looking good Tony! I think it is always a challenge if you try and cover a model in any film when its all in one piece, I prefer to cover the sub assemblies first cutting away the film where they will be glued abit of masking tape added to each surface then pull them away to leave a neatish glue joint (most of the time!) I think I would struggle with tissue and Poly C, you do make it look very easy. Keep up the good work and know doubt you are already thinking of what to make next? Tony Bennett
i intended to cover with tisuue and poly c hence it all being glued together, but then i sold the plane and the new owner wanted solar film. never having used the stuff before, it has been a steep learning curve for me. I have the twin version to finish next, then i am thinking of a biplane version to be built alongside the 11' lancaster. Tony Bennett
nearly finished at last. just wing tips and ailerons left to cover, finish fitting out and we can fly it. ( if it ever stops raining that is)
